I was lookin' at the Accuracy International Chassis system for a new stock on my rifle, or the UARS and i was just wonderin' if anybody has had any expieriance with either stock and if the AI is worth the money. any how i was just wonderin what are the real perks of the stocks ergonomics, drop bedding, robustness, and overall functionability. i need another stock since my other stock on the rifle (HS Precision) got melted by my spotter's Cigarette.(We were at the range, bad practice to let him smoke but he's bigger than me, always respect your elders) so now i have a Hole about an inch wide in the buttstock. I am open to other stock options if you wish to tell me about them. I prefer to have an aluminum bedding block, and to able to drop a M700 short action rifle with a #5 barrel contour.

Sharky,
I'm serious! he was smokin' and the ashes melted about an inch off my stock the little twerp is a god spotter but he just has some bad habits. Need advice on which stock or any other stocks would be greatly apreicieted.
Hey guy. I have a AICS, one of the first ones in the US. I really like it. Its the standard version, non-folding one.
Its comfortable, adjustable LOP, and rock solid. The adjustable cheekpiece can be installed, but it requires minor modifications to the stock panels.
I also have gotten my hands on 2 of the impossible to get 10 round mags. The standard mag fits flush, while the 10 rounders hang out of the stock about 2 inches.
The stock panels can be changed without disturbing the chassis-weapon fit up. Black, green, white, grey, not sure of any other colors, but they are expensive. $200 a pair. But anything with AI stamped on it is pricey anyway.
It comes with all the hardware, just torque in the barreled action and thats it.
The only things I have done to the system is alter the feed lips on the standard mag to allow better feed angle to the bore.
The sling mounts need alittle work too. They rattle at times. Nothing major, some people have said they look like lifting hooks on cargo boxes. But they work fine, they use the HK style large sling hooks.
It also has a standard sling stud for a Harris bipod to attach to the front, plus you can use a Parker-Hale or AI bipod.
Its pricey, but there are alot of advantages
to just a regular rifle stock.
Hope this helps.

Oh, one more thing. Get your spotter some Nicoret. Before the fire department is called to your hide site. =o)

This is the same teen who posted on Delta forum stating he is 15 years old and is "sure i am going to be in a high speed unit". And now he has a "spotter" and is in the need for sniper rifle equipment.

Tuukka,
My spotter is my dad, and the need for a tactical sniper stock is for varmint hunting, and high power rifle competition. Hey can't a 15 year old shoot a little? I can hold my own with the best of'em out to about 500 yards.(The best i mean army snipers, my dad is sniper trained but not qualled)

This has to be a joke.
I think your next stock should be made by Toys R Us
Why are you all beating up on this young fellow SuperSniper15? It used to be such that the older ones would offer a helping hand.
Sniper15, you may want to consider a laminated stock. Just as stable and they won't melt. You can also paint them up if you prefer camo style.

If you come on here and talk to the BTDT's
And ask a sincere question, without the
bull$hit, you will get a sincere responce!
You start off talking $hit and you can see
what happens.
You sure don't say that your as good as
the best around here, when you don't have
a clue what it even takes to be the best.
A little respect goes a long way!

Exactly. Well said. Run a little search of this forum and take a look at some of his posts. Then you'll understand why he gets slammed so often. It's a hard lesson to learn but it's still required. Think of it as tough love.
Speaking of which, judging by your profile, I'd say that you don't have much more experience than our superdupersnipper. Ever wonder why you don't see many Sniper rifles these days with laminated stocks?
We don't mind helping out those who come here honestly and ask sensible questions, but this is not a kid's club. We don't coddle kids who come on here spouting off about how great they are and giving their 15 year old unqualified opinions. This is a man's job and very few men at that. This is an adult forum. If you act like an adult, you get treated like one. If you act like a kid you'll get treated like a kid, regardless of your age.

Shark man, Sniperone,
Sorry about all the BS, what realy happened is that i was sitin' around the campfire on a Coyote hunt and i got careless and kicked the butt of the stock into the fire i didn't notice until a couple minutes later by then there was no hope to repair the stock. The reason why i like tactical stocks is because i like them better than varmint stocks they have all sorts bells'n whistles that make it more comfortable to stake out a coyote's cash site for days and make a good shot (My longest succesful shot being 612 yards) I guess i got a little mouthy and i shouldn't have I'm sorry. But heck I have made 17 500 yard plus kills at a target that presents a 5 inch sized boiler room, isn't that relatively good shooting for a 15 year old who has been shooting since he was 10. If i come off as a mouthy SOB then i guess you guys are right and all the BS i have said earlier in the Delta forum and in here was stupid and didn't show any maturity I'm truly sorry for my actions the whole cigarette thing was a little humor for ya'll and the thing about delta, i was just askin' a question about which does which. If ya'll wnat me to shut up until i grow a little more mature and some whiskers I'll understand. Like i said sorry.
