I am looking for a .338 Lapua caliber rifle for personal use. I know that the caliber is mainly a European caliber and is little known here in the States. Are there any real marksmen, snipers, or competition shooters that frequent this room have any experience with this caliber of weapon and who makes any weapons chambered in this caliber besides Accuracy International, or Erma?
You might want to give the SAKO TRG 42 a try. Price/Quality is unbeatable, atleast here, it is only about 1850$. The TRG 42 with green furniture and fosfated finish has been selected for use in the Finnish Armed Forces. This model is also available, only slightly costly.

We have several long range specialists that use the .338 Lapua, .50 cal, and working with the .408 Chey Tac. http://www.snipersparadise.com/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=12
