I've been looking around for one on the internet looking for the specs and some other info but i can't seem to find it. I would assume that the Remington web site would have it but they didn't. Any suggestions?

I'll let you in on a secret:
www.remingtonle.com (http://www.remingtonle.com)

Now don't tell nobody. Remington don't want riffraffs on their site.

Kodiak, the package is made up so they can stick it to purchase departments of PD's across the nation. You get a PSS, low end Leupold rings, a standard 3.5x10x40 with target turretts and Duplex reticle, 1" tube Leupold scope, a Harris bipod, some cheap cleaning gear and a Pelican case. When I ordered the "Package" several years ago and heard the price, the shop owner said he could put the whole thing together for 500.00 less. Thats what I bought for my department, well we up graded to a M1LR and Badger rings and bases. The Package is a rip off!

By the way you can get a 700 VS and have basically the same rifle with a different but more field type stock for about two hundred less.

Tactical's right. The VS is almost identical. The 700 P has a HS stock and is a little harder to get, as you have to go to a special dealer. So, unless you have an unlimited departmental budget, get the VS, or for about $150 more the VS SF.

I thought that might be the case with the "package" but anyways how is the rifle and is it worth it? And tactical if you don't mind me asking how much did you get your package put together for?

Kodiak, the ones I got for the department came two years ago and cost 1200.00 each put together by Traders Sports, in San Leandro Calif. That was department price without tax. These were not as they come from Remington but the same items placed into the same package by Traders. The rifle shave gone way up and last I heard the package was about 2000.00 from Remington and 1500.00 from Traders.

For my own use I go with Custom rifles. You get so much more.

I would call George Gardner, of GA Precision 816-221-1844 and see what he can do for you. You will be far happier in the end. With a good custom bbl you will get more velocity than a factory bbl. You will get more rounds between fouling, longer life and more consistent/smaller groups. The trued action will allow more shots without wandering and so more more I dont have room to put on here.

From Gardner you can get a rifle package for about 2600.00 with a basic Leupold scope. I am not part of the company but that should be pretty close This is a custom rifle not a shelf item. His stuff is as good as it gets.
