My Jets are beefing up the defense even more. I'm expecting them to draft either a defensive end or outside linebacker in the first round even though most of the "experts" are predicting that they pick up a receiver. I think with the addition of Tomlinson on the offense, even though he's lost a step, they are going to be dangerous this year...

I'll keep my fingers cross! I'm from Charlotte, we dont' have a baseball team..not much on the Basketball side of the house, so I have to root for my football.....

Yeah...(sigh) I know..I know...

Agreed, I am just hoping that we can get through the season without anyone getting killed in a drive by, multiple DUI's, home invasions, and constant man love between McLovin and his players on national tv. Prediction: In typical Denver fashion they start the season 3-0 and everyone jumps on the bandwagen. McDaniels starts his gay routine and the rest of the league realizes we suck and we finish 5-11.

The only reciever we have now is Steve Smith, who is calling out his own team to fill the holes they have created. Which the aren't.. We haven't done jack shit with the free agency market. WTF!

Have faith in Matt Moore.. 4-1 last year as a starter. Beat out three very good teams in that average, including the Vikings. And keep in mind he absolutely destroyed the Giants defense in their final game in Giants stadium with all the Giants legends there watching...

He played very well when Donovan was out with injuries. Kolb exceeded all expectations and has skills and the potential to be an excellent QB. As for trading Donovan, while he is a stud player with a history of winning, he is getting old for the game, is injury prone, and oh, yeah- trading him means the Iggles can free up about $11million, plus they get trades. I was a little concerned when I first heard about the trade, especially since we're giving a decent QB to a division rival, but we're getting some draft picks out of it, and remember, the Skins have had some trouble protecting their QB lately. Let's not forget that Andy Reid is a stud coach and usually makes pretty damned good decisions, even if they are unpopular at first, like when he picked Donovan and Philly damn near rioted. (Then again Philly damn near riots about twice a week!)

Trading your 5-time Pro Bowl QB to a division rival is one of the stupidest moves I've seen.

When buying a used car, remember that there is always at least one good reason why its prior owner got rid of it.

I think the Panthers are playing the addition by subtraction game. On offense, they need a backup QB, a KR, and a WR or two. On defense, they need a backup DE and a backup LB or two. Other than one WR, all their starters are already on the roster, and both younger and cheaper than the dearly departed. The defense played well last year once they got over the revolving door of injured defensive linemen, and the offense played well once Moore came in at QB. There's reason to have hope.

Because someone offered a stupid price for it? Don't underestimate the owner of the Redskins- he's a jackass that would pay for such a trade.

Well, Mr. Snyder (as he prefers to be called ) has hired some real football people to pull the Skins out of their looong nosedive.

I think the McNab pickup is a good idea, as long as he stays healthy, and they pick up another receiver. Not sure how strong their O line is, but as a Giants fan I hope they are old and slow.

11 April 2010, 23:04
There's a lot of talk in Nashville about Albert coming back. I'm not sure the Titans would be willing to give up a lot of picks for him, but the last 2 years here he was unstoppable. There was always speculation that once he got the big payday he wouldn't be worth much. I believe he just received a $21 million roster bonus, so it's hard to fathom that they would be willing to get rid of him.

He was in an accident in our jurisdiction a few years ago and imagine that big ass climbing out of a Ferrari.

Did you miss the part where they drafted an awesome quarterback? And another wide receiver for him. Also they traded for a good safety, and we've got Beason at MLB.

So, even if young defensemen have to step up, I like our chances. Two of the best running backs in the NFL, one of the best receivers, a good offensive line, and now a quarterback who can make use of him without throwing 5 interceptions a game. Plus that sandbagging, expensive fuck Peppers is gone.

I don't think Campbell is going to be the answer. We desperately need a line that can protect the QB long enough for the vertical game to open up. We haven't had that in a loooong time. Who knows though, with McFadden in the backfield and Campbell chucking the ball, we may do enough to win the sorry-assed AFC West.

The real problem is Al Davis. I just wish the fucker would go away, quietly. I read an interview with Warren Sapp once. He was on the sideline when one of his teammates told him that the QB was going deep. Sapp asked how he knew that. The teammate replied that the "boss" just phoned it in from the owners box. “Having the Super Bowl in the new home of the Jets and Giants is fantastic," said David Hill, FOX Sports Media Group Chairman and CEO. "It’s the biggest sports event in the country on the country’s biggest stage. It’s different, and should create buzz for months leading up to it and if we’re really lucky, it will begin snowing right after halftime.”

At first glance I wasn't very fond of this idea, but I'm warming up to it the more I think about it. There have been some awesome playoff games in the elements and a Giants/Jets clash would kick ass.

Since I've transplanted though I'm also rooting for the super-Chargers! LT is gone but the Chargers have mainly went to a passing offense with Sproles being a good runner when needed.

The only reason I pay attention to pre-season football is to see the Lions win. Beggars can't be choosers.
We have a descent looking team but I predict 2-3 season ending injuries by game 5 of the regular season. I predict Jay Cutler will be knocked out for the rest of the season before the Bears get to their bye week. The most dangerous job in the NFL right now is being the Chicago Bears QB.

9 sacks in one half? By the time the game was over, the over the hill backup, Todd Collins was sprawled out with broken ribs and the Bears were down to their QB of the future, Caleb Hanie.

It's going to be a long season in Chicago. At least the Hawks start on Thursday.

As far as concussions go...I've seen at least a dozen already this year....I saw 1/2 a dozen in the first Giant game. They're trying to address this issue, but it's a dangerous, dangerous game. There's only so much you can do.

Your O line is not a cohesive unit yet...to many personnel changes. But Cutler needs to get rid of the ball quicker. That play that he got the concussion on was his fault for not recognizing the blitz from that side.

Moss would probably be a fit in Tennessee, Chicago, Kansas City, Green Bay, and Washington. Don't think NE would take him back, not even for the minimum, but I am sure that is where Moss wants to get back to. Minn most likely eats the dudes salary this season.

The waiver process gives the teams with the worst records first shot. With that being said, there are some young teams that are up and coming, such as Tampa and St Louis that could benefit from having Moss. However, he is such a detriment to the locker room and his negative influence on the younger players would be taking a step back. To me, I'd rather have a guy that wants to be a team player who is willing to actually catch balls, run every route, run over the middle and block when asked. Every team should just pass on this clown.
Oh yeah, Go Colts!

I'm surprised the Titans made the move. But at 5-3, they have their sights on the division title and they just lost their best receiver. They have to do something to take the emphasis off Chris Johnson. They also haven't won a playoff game since 2004, so they are desperate. Let's hope he brings his A game. Actually, I'd settle for his B game, it's better than anyone else they have.

Has the NFL ever had 3 players from the same Super Bowl team as head coaches in the league at the same time? Or even two from the same team, coaching at the same time?

With Brad Childress out in Minnesota, Leslie Frazier is taking over the head coaching position, at least in the interim.

With Jeff Fisher coaching in Tennessee and Mike Singletary with the 49er's, that makes 3 players from the Bears '85 Super Bowl team as head coaches in the NFL. I can't recall any Super Bowl team fielding that many head coaches concurrently.

I've always loved the Redskins through thick-and-thin, but they look horrible this year. I'm glad we beat the Titans, but McNabb is a horrible QB. I had somewhat muted hopes for him when he first arrived in Washington, but he's turned out to he a complete turnover queen.

I can recall a couple of instances where a player or coach on the sideline has involved himself in a play on the field, but it has been awhile since what occurred during the Jets game yesterday has happened.

Sometimes I just wonder what people are thinking when they do something like that. It's not as if the cameras aren't going to catch it, yet he does his best to try and keep his action as unnoticeable as possible. Just a subtle shift of the knee sent the Miami player sprawling.

It looks like Sal Alosi, the coach from the NY Jets that tripped Nolan Carroll, will be fined by the NFL with a 2 - 3 game suspension. He is very lucky the tripping did not injured Carroll. If it had, he wouldn't be able to find a job anywhere in the NFL.

BTW, I believe Carroll's parents both served over 20+ years in the military. Jennifer Carroll is Lt. Governor elect of Florida.
