(KMOV) -- For the military to work well, every service member must play his or her role.

See Video Here. (http://www.kmov.com/video/featured-videos/Inside-the-army-special-operations-89744307.html)

When it's time to assign the most dangerous missions, the army calls on its special forces. So what does it take to join this elite group of soldiers? News 4's Craig Cheathan went to find out.

VBS2 (the software that Brittenham is talking about) is an amazing tool. The guys at the SWC were blown away when we (myself and another guy from BIA) demo'd its predecessor several years back. It's good to see that soldiers are benefiting from that work.

Wonder if Bohemia's ever going to release a proper Op Flashpoint 2 sequel based on VBS2...

VBS2 and Armed Assault use the same basic engine. In fact, Armed Assault addons can be used within VBS2.

USSOCOM, USASOC and I respectfully disagree.

Respectfully do all you want, then go to a selection course where historically 30% pass. Or I guess you could quit said course then go to some unit and be called special:rolleyes: Nothing against PSYOPS/CA but it ain't special in any sense of the word. Unless you count the worthless NCO's I ran across in language...ya, real "performers"

If you ran into some guys in the pipeline that werent cutting it, hopefully the Cadre at SWC did their job and dropped them. We dont want or need guys that cant handle the job same as you. Our selection process and training are different than yours, I get it. Ive got a great deal of respect for the other SOF Forces out there and the missions they do. Ive got my job to do, and I dont want anybody else to have to do it as that would take them away from their core missions. When the DOD, USSOCOM and USASOC tell me Im not SOF anymore, Ill move out smartly. It's not how I determine if what I do is valuable or not.
