Marrakech, Morocco?

Gentlemen,

I plan on going to Marrakech second week of may. Has anyone been there yet?
I was wondering what it is like in general, as well as safety/security issues regarding westerners.

Been there several times. Never had any issues from a safety/security perspective. Place is really a Euro-Tourist destination, so it caters to visitors. Take usual precautions that you would take "anywhere" and you'll be fine.

Never transitted through Marrakech Airport, have been there to pick up and drop off Principals. Seemed very modern and efficient. Only have transitted Casablanca Airport. Driven new toll road down to Marrakech. Can think of some parts of Casa' that you'd prefer to avoid.

Thanks for the information. No worries, I won't be going anywhere near Casablanca. I go with the wife and 4-year old daughter so besides enjoying hotel facilities I'll only visit the usual in Marrakech.
