So I got this email from said company, just wondering what they are trying to get out of me? Do they just want my information for a proposal, or is there any real hope of employment? They might have got my info. from Dangerzonejobs.com, other than that I do not believe I have sent them a CV. Scam, legit or what? Anybody heard of these people, there web site looks legit, but that's not hard to do.

Here is the email in question.

If you are interested, I would need you to fill out the format. If you see anything in the requirements that you have experience in, please make sure you list it. Also attached is a summery of our employee benefits. The position is at Twentyine Palms, California .

- Please fill out the red areas.

- Please fill out each area to the best of your ability.

- If you do not have a specific area of experience then list why you believe you would still be qualified.

- Please do not change the lay out of the resume.

- I would need the resume format back by Thursday afternoon.

- Please send me your salary requirement when you send back the format.

Looks like she is located here in Tampa / St Pete. Her signature line says Washington and there are a few companies listed at that address. Join Linkedin and ask her for info.

Step One: Do a simple "Google" search for the company.

You will find things like this:

http://www.mobiusllc.net/

http://www.manta.com/c/mm85vc6/mobius-industries-usa-llc

Step Two: Directly call the company before sending them anything.

Based on my 10 minute investigation, is is a small startup company trying to work its way into government contracts for support services. At this point, they appear to be building a resume file of personnel so when they see a request for proposals, they can respond with an offer.

These very small companies (5-6 men and women in an office, with a web site and some glossy brochures), might be the start of something like Blackwater/Xe/Dyncorp/etc., or it could be just some wannabe's trying to breaking into the military-industrial complex more on the basis of their (apparently confirmed) "8a = disadvantaged small business firm" than strength of performance.

I did find all that information posted about them, via a Google search, just thought I would post here and see what you guys would come up with. Maybe somebody here would of had direct experience with the company, either good or bad.

So why do company's need resumes on file? Seems like they are using people, to gain a contract and I might not even get the job?

So far I have not sent any personal info. just an experience summary, no CV or anything, just filed out there little resume deal.

Thanks,

Josh

One of my former Project Managers was working for them last time I spoke to him. I doubt it was for the same position that you are looking at seeing as he is a retired 0-6 logistics type. He had no complaints that I am aware of and seemed to enjoy what he was doing. It was on a DOD contract -- CONUS...

I know it isn't much, but they are a very small company.

Good Luck

I would hit it.

Almost two hours; we're either getting old, or cleaning up our act.

The company looks legit, but the approach looks a little fat fingered. If their first approach is to get you to format your resume for a conditional hire for a proposal that they haven't discussed with you - it seems a little presumptious. Could be a great opportunity, but I'd check it out.

So why do company's need resumes on file? Seems like they are using people, to gain a contract and I might not even get the job?

When they bid a contract to the GOV'T they have to show they have qualified persons for the positions. Otherwise, "Kilo42, LLC" could just spam the shit out of GOV'T contracts trying to get one then find the people to work it. Then if I can't find the people to work, I lose the contract and they have to start it all over again. But if you show up to the table with the requisite number of "bodies" to fill the contract they know you at least did your homework and can source the contract.

Kilo42 is right, but generally there's a little forepay before you ask someone to submit a job specific resume or fill out a questionaire. At least an email exchange, but better a phone call - especially if you intend to include a resume in the proposal.
