Just trying to acquire some information about the medic billet at the teams. I was a line Corpsman went to Iraq twice in 06-07 and 08. Whats funny is I never thought I'd be applying for Bud/s. (package just got approved for april 2011). But after the first tour I realized that my body is more capable than what the avg man thinks it can do. I just want to operate, thats all. Doesn't matter if its with Seals or MARSOC. I'm just looking for non-biased opinions. So here are the questions (if anyone is a team medic here).
#1 Corpsman usually go to 18 D, am I correct? Or since I already have experience and gone to certain schools will they be like, "you already know how to do that job, go to this school and learn this new skill"
#2 Do team Medics ever get to finish off the the 2nd portion of 18D to enhance their medical skills? (Rumor is that part of the SARC pipeline is that they will start going to the full 18D course to be 8403 "SARC IDC"), will NSW mimic that for team Medics?
Bud/s questions
#1 Besides the weather of a winter and summer class, is there a difference in tempo?
#2 Performance chits, is that just a way for mind games?
Thank you for taking the time to read this boot's post. I'm sure these questions get reptitive and become repititious.
