Scope or Iron Sights

Which should be used to practice shooting to become a Police Sharpshooter? Or does it not matter?

Police Designated Marksmen/Snipers use optics almost exclusively. I've personally never seen nor heard of one using open sights on the job. That being said, if you are wanting to learn how to shoot, I would advise you to learn and do most of your practice with open sights. It's very easy for someone to transition from open sights to optics but not nearly as easy to do the opposite. Open sights will force you to concentrate more on the fundamentals and are less forgiving. It's harder now but better for you in the long run if you plan on being in the game for a while.

First, you should practice being a really good, trusted cop. Then practice with both. Learn to shoot with open sights and work on the fundamentals, then get into scopes shooting. Just like the Shark man said.
