Barrel length on 50's

What is considered standard length barrels on 50's?? Is fluting on a 50 worth the added cost??

McMillian is only able to flute a 30 inch barrel on there rifles. They offer up to a 36 inch for the benchrest guns.

How much velocity/accuracy would you loose in having the shorter barrels?

it would seem to me that the barrel length would maximize accuracy to a certain length -at that point the weopon weight would become unmanagible in the feild ?

i see no reason on fluting a rifle that you would be shooting off of the bench. The heavier the better in this case
