On new years I hope I get to alerted onto the streets (national guard) with riot gear so I can split a looters head open with a night stick. So far were on standby in case the president/governer orders martial law, that is of course if the Y2K bug hits like some people say.

Wow! Cracking looter's skulls. Man that gives me a stiffy. Look! There's a looter over there get him......Oh wait...That was Rodney King oops! Well, I'll sleep soundly on New Years knowing there's criminals out there to keep him busy. You can't wait to put on the Riot gear? I can't wait to bull-shit my wife.("Come on, it'll be the first time in a new millenium honey")
I heard there is some looter's over in the Seal site....go get 'em tiger!
On a serious note, to all the operational tech's out there. Good luck this week-end. I hope the IED gear doesn't get to much use.

Let's pray that this idiot doesn't grow up to be a law enforcement officer!
Guy's like him need to be weeded out of the National Guard. Remember Kent State!

We need aggressive types on the ground, and sometimes that means a few nutcases get thrown into the mix. We can't all read Locke and go to the opera on Sundays.
That said, thank god for psych screens!

I was trying to be sarcastic guys. I want to get laid(and thoroughly wasted too) on new years but the way things are looking it might not happen because of all the shit that was predicted such as Y2K bug, mass suicide cults, threat of domestic terrorists(militias), and the threat of foriegn terrorists. Just a couple days ago they cought some wierdo outside the washington state border with a sh*t load of explosives. He had reservations in a hotel right next to that big needle tower in seatle, the place where the city was planning to have a big blast of a party. Only time will tell what will happen next. All I want to do is get drunk and get my groove on for new years. The last two holiday seasons were spent on 2 hour recall(two beer/drink per 24 hour limit) at Fort Campbell(duty station, not home), and frankly im pissed because of it. My old active unit is in bosnia right now. I wanted to go but they wouldnt return untill feb 2000, the only thing that kept me from re-enlisting or extending my contract to go there was the fact that if I did, I would miss the new millenium. and missing it isnt something to brag about either.

Mr. Grunt,
In this great big 'ol world of ours, I have had the displeasure of running into a few types that actually get off on beating people down. Your first post seems to be right down this alley. I appreciate your second post as it shows a bit of sanity. My apologies for not "getting" your humor. I find it the easiest (while on the internet) to keep my humor focused on the simple pleaures in life. i.e. farting, beer drinking, and muppet jokes.

Just to make matters worse, I just saw on the news that a couple hundred pounds of C4 was stollen from police EOD in California recently. God damnit its gonna be crazy this new years!!! Im wishing the worse thing to happen is the Y2K bug wipes out my credit card debt or deposits a couple thousand im my bank account or something.

It is my opinion (I'm no longer "in the know") That this New Years is just way to good of an opportunity for some assface to miss. The last time there was such a big stage was at the Olympics in Atlanta, and you remember what some dipshit did then.
I know some of my fellow tech's will be getting busy and remind them:
"initial success- or total failure"
happy new years bmf

From what I heard it was a quiet night for all. We waited til about 2330 and then commenced to join the festivities. Over here fireworks are legal on New Years. Some drunk Techs and explosives...

It was a pretty good night for me (thank god) other than the neibors "trippen" and "X-en" while they tried to light their sparkelers off my christmas lights, and my first speeding ticket(damn pigs).
