To all you STS/ SOS boys, do any of you have any SecFo attached? And what kind of stuff are they getting into. If your wondering what im all about the USAF Ranger thread might clear it up. Im looking into the 6th SOS but thats because its pretty much the only option on equil plus listings. Thanks for any and all help on the matter.

The 6th is your only bet, the only AFSF we have around is armorer support, nothing sexy
Have you considered cross-training into TACP/CCT/SOWT?

Yeah definetly considering a cross train, but i got a bonus from Combat Arms so its going to be expensive. Looking at both TACP and CCT, i figure i could get JTAC in about the same time if i stay shrap, im in ALS wit 2 TACPs right now and a guy whos leaving soon for CCS. getting alot of advice from them.

Also OSI has been trying to get me to submit a package, what do you guys think of there Counter Terror specialist, i know they work with some of the guys on this forum but i get the impression its alot of mind games and not much door kickin
Go TACP/CCT if you want to be around door-kickers. Remember CCT is more then JTAC though, so you might want to favorTACP.

Even if you got an SRB, if you cross-train to a career field that has an equal/higher SRB (or commission) then you forfeit the balance, but don't have to pay anything back.
I think it depends on your desired path...lots of TACP guys go support bigger Army, and drop lots of bombs/kill lots of people, but if you're looking to kick doors, I think you'd have a better chance as a CCT guy. Yes, some TACP guys attached to more high speed units in big Army I imagine get to kick doors, but as a CCT guy...yeah.

I thought room clearing wasn't part of CCT's mission. Am I wrong here?

Both are really good jobs, and yeah it its JTAC that im interested in, its just easier to get into the STS and work for AFSOC as CCT, i know some of the tacps supporting army units are mierserable. I hear it takes a while before u can go to selection for the STS or even some of the more high speed ASOS

If you are not CCT or PJ, you should not be answering questions in this thread.
Thanks

Why? Because we are USAF? You are attached to a SOF (i.e.- SEAL, SF, SAS, etc) team and are a team member. You can't simply hang out while your team mates try to take a building or area. This is one of several post like this and it simply cracks me up. What the hell do you guys think we do? Seriously. A simple Google search tells you plenty.

Sorry KamoKid. Some things I've read elsewhere wasn't very clear on some things like that that pertain to CCTs and PJs. Crystal now.

Not a big issue, man. CCT specialize and focus on a certain important part of a SOF team, but that in no way means they are exempt from doing the other parts. That goes for everyone on the team. Medics are the same way. They are valuable and no one wants to lose anyone on the team, much less the medic but he also has to do what needs to be done as well. Even if that job is to clear a building or other. If no one is hurt, then no sense in doing med stuff. If no bombs can be dropped, CCT needs to man a heavy weapon and conduct business as usual.
