BMF,
Got a couple of questions for you. What is the PT at Dive School and EOD School like? What does a typical PT day consist of?
If you don't pass the PT test the first day are you given a second chance? How long do classes take to form up? Thanks in advacne. Good luck on the chiefs innitiation. Have heard stories about what goes on. Keep your book secured at all times.

Well I teach at the EOD school not the dive school (they are actually two seperate commands) but I'll rehash what is was like for me.
Dive school seriously kicked my ass. Some guys said it wasn't all that big of a deal but it was a gut check for me. I definately had to look deep on more than one occasion.
Looking back part of it was failure on my part to fully prepare myself and part genetics of being a shitty runner. Either way it hurt.
The good news is that PT rarely lasted more than 2-3 hours in the morning. Then you spend the rest of the day actually learning quality dive material. The days can be long and tiring but once I hit the water I knew this shit was for me. I gutted it out and have REAPED the rewards ever since.
If you fail the PT test they may shit can you that day or give you another shot at it in a week depending on too many variables to list.
Simple answer- don't even show up if you can't smoke that cheesy test.
Rock On-
BMF

Thanks for the quick reply. I know you work at the EOD school but just to fill my curiosity, how tough is the confidence part of dive school? Is it a one shot deal? pass/fail? Have a good one.

Most things that you fail in the Navy have a "retest" the next day, including confidence training (though it goes on for a whole week). As far as confidence training goes.....if your not confident today while will you be tommorrow?
Catch me drift?

Thanks alot BMF. You are totally right on the "if your not confident today, why will you be confident tomorrow" part. Thanks for a your answers. By the way, What does the week long confidence course consist of? Have a good one.

Hooyah BMF right on. One more thing, take every minute one at a time. Never worry about the next minute. Good luck.
