Good Evening Gents,

I am looking to see if anyone has ever known a Sean E. Caney that claims to be a prior Recon guy. I mean, I know this guy is full of B/S, but would love just to have the cold hard truth.

He sports 2 Recon tattoos, a tattoo of a Sergeants Cheverons, a EGA tattoo, and has full sets of dress uniforms which he wears with the Naval Cross, Purple Hearts, and various other medals, which he claims he earned in OIF. He claims he was injured and was honorably discharged.

A little info on him.

Name: Sean Elliot Caney
Age: 22
Location: Dallas, Texas

I'll give it to him that he talks a good game, but there are to many red flags about his B/S, and claiming the Navy Cross and WEARING IT IN PUBLIC is just ... wow ... I can't even understand people like that.

Ultimately, I think this guy went to boot and maybe "A" school, then washed out.

If y'all need anymore info, P.M. me.

Thanks in advance,

Poser, big time. Only 17 Marines have won a NC for the whole of the WOT and he isn't one of them.

I would say the award is obvious b.s. I'm curious about the tatt's though. That's a very permanent lie to try to pass off. I can't imagine anyone being that stupid.

To be honest, most of them aren't known for their brilliance. After all, they are posers who are posing as a member of a very small community. The thing is, most civilians believe the lines that these clowns feed them and feel they have no way of verifying their stories even if they do feel the person may be a poser.

Sad but true. Anyhow, I called a buddy of mine at Charlie Company out in San Antonio and he's never heard of him. Dunno what unit this guy claims though. Give me that info and I can ask around some more to see how completely full of shit this guy is.

Sir. With all due respect. Many of us civilians became aware of poser's years ago. A lot of us are alerted by the first scent of bragadocious. Knowing it's not part of most professional soldiers MOS.

I've checked into the name and have come up empty so far. No hits on MOL, and no one has heard of him. I'd have to check with an associate at BRTC to find out if he's ever been there and washed out. Wouldn't surprise me.

There's a guy in the Dallas area by the same name who works for a credit company, but I haven't found any references to recon in his linkedin profile.

Regardless of your awareness level, there are more that DON't recognize a poser than DO. I work in an environment where most people tend to be suspicious of others and I have seen several of them readily accept two posers that were outed after years of posing.

I laughed loudly at "outed."

I have never served in a reconnaissance battalion, but I have brothers that have, and do. 8 have responded with a negative. The best and surest answer is through the MC TFDB, or total force data base, which lists every detail of a Marine's history since about 1945. There are ways to reach out for this info but I save it for bigger fish. Apologies.

If he is or has worn a Navy Cross medal or ribbon on a uniform and you have seen this you do not need his record to seek charges. The award is a matter of public record and no person with that name has earned this award. It's that simple. Contact the local FBI office and report a federal offense. He should spend a year in jail. I would also send a report to the Schantag's at POW Network. They are relentless.

I'd like to create my own task force. I would call it "The Elder brothers."

No one with a last name of named Caney has any current affiliation with the Marine Corps.. He is a criminal, turn him in.

Hooray, NMCI is letting me access this page for once. Ran a search in the archived classes from FY2008 to present. No "Caney" in there, but you didn't need me to tell you that.

I remember hearing something about the Stolen Valor act getting changed in the federal courts because it encroached on some guys freedom of speech. Essentially he can run his mouth all he wants, but if i can find that picture of him in Uniform wearing that medal, he's screwed. If anyone knows more about what i'm talking about feel free to chime in.

I'll be sure to drop a line to the POW Network.

Thanks for all the responses, everyone.

I'd didn't either till i met this guy. Hearing his stream of BS feels like getting raped in the ear with a dremel tool. He's a complete idiot.

He was also in a "1%" biker gang for a short stint, until the night they finally patched him in, he got drunk and belligerent, so they kicked his ass to the curb. He had to get their tattoos removed from his fore-arms because they supposedly threatened to kill him if he didn't.

I met Sean Caney and saw so many red flags.
He was going to Richland College in Dallas and joined The Blue Star Club.
The club is former military, started by my buddy a Sgt Christian Kennedy from 3/5 .Sean told me he had a Navy Cross and and showed it to me. I knew this was bullshit. I checked the list, and he's not on it. He graduated Rowlett High School in 2003 and said he was Force Recon. My friends I served with in the Corps dont know him. He said he was stationed at JRB Ft Worth on tad while on stand down. No one at Camp Pendleton has ever heard of him.
He talks a great game....I doint know how he knows information, but I ran his name with my buddy...and he never served a day in the Corps.
He also claims to have gratuated UTD ( University Texas @ Dallas )

http://www.linkedin.com/pub/sean-caney/21/a8b/32b

23 yrs old and all these websites he says he went to UTD from 2005 – 2009
and served 6 years in the Corps as Force Recon. No Recruiter in Rowlett knows him. I know Marines from Pendleton everyone knows of...XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.but no one has ever heard of Sean Eliott Caney.
Does anyone have any information? He also says he's a reserve cop in Richardson. Officer Jason Day a former Marine as well has never heard of him in the dept or in the Corps. I am a C square driver for 2nd Lar and serving at Fob Payne. No one at Camp Leatherneck has heard of him...or Fob Payne or
no one in 3/5 or 2/5 know him...all people he claimed to know.

Thomas Seaberry a teacher at Rowlett High School was a Recon Marine, and has never heard of Sean Caney. Who is this guy?
He told my buddy Kennedy he had a price on his head by the Bandidos, and they made him leave and take off his tattoos. I dont know if that was true.

He had a Florida cell number when I met him. 786-718-9519
Simmons and Kennedy drank alot and Sean Caney said everyone knew hm. They didnt. The Corps is very small and I know alot of people. Kennedy and Simmons served from 1991 to 2008. They know alot of people....not him.
Sean Caney has no pics, no buddies who know him. No one I ever talked to has heard of him...no DD214
he now goes to.... to be a mechanic. I dont know about this guy.

Sorry for the intrusion into the Marine AO. However, this guy can be met at the Lew Sterrett Justice Center in Dallas when he goes to answer for his Family Violence Assault Charge.
