Hey Gents,
I'm a FNG here and love the site you all have. I'm a old Herk driver from Cherry Point and some of you may have jumped out of the back of my plane at one point or another. Lately it seems that I get alot of requests to verify folks and it's blowing me away with all the crap guys will come up with.

I thought you all might like to see this Gunny I met at the SkyBall in Fort Worth this year. I was escorting SgtMaj Overstreet and his wife to this function when I met him. I don't think he expected a few hundred Marines to be there. I could tell by talking to him that he was a former Marine, but as to his claims of being a POW etc, not sure. I turned him into Mary and Chuck over at POW/MIA network and the FBI. The Feds said unless they can get him on some other aspect of fraud inconjuntion with wearing medals he didn't earn, they wouldn't touch the case. If you Google this guy you will see that attends all the Vet day parades etc as an "Escort" for the code talkers. He's also all thier FB page.

There is a breakdown of his SRB from the FOIA I just got back and then a breakdown of all his medals on a PDF that one of my Sgt who is an awesome ribbon chaser put together. If any of you can figure out if he rates the scuba bubble from that, please let me know.

Another poser up in the Phili area was busted this past year and thought you might get a laugh out of this "TOD" named Andrew Diabo (http://www.thesandgram.com/2010/05/15/andrew-diabo-the-poser-loses-his-house/). The best part is he never served and to top it off was Canadian...
You can google some of the other pieces on him as well.

Anyway, I like doing the research on these guys and if you all ever have a case that I can help out on, please send me a PM. If it's on the Officer side, even better. Hope you guys have a great morning and thanks again for letting an old Pilot join your group.

Taco

Welcome Taco. New members are required to post an introduction here:http://www.socnet.com/forumdisplay.php?f=281

As to the gentleman in question:

It looks like he's a comm and admin guy who is embellishing his record. No mention of dive school in the FOIA paperwork that I could see. Nor was he in a unit that would have allowed the award of gold wings. To my knowledge there was no Code Talker program after WWII so I'm not sure where he gets that. The box is checked for Bronze Star but no mention of it in the Awards section. The paperwork itself has a couple problems but the dude is definitely is wearing far more shit than he rates.

Thanks Tax,
I've put a intro up. Thanks for checking out his FOIA. It's crazy that a guy who served as James did would inflate himself. I taped him talking about all the secret stuff he did and how he was a pow for four days. He also claimed that he was involved in the Mayaquez incident and the raid on the Koh Tang Island. Crazy crap...

His claim to fame that he told me three times was that he was the first Navajo Indian DI in the Corps. What bothers me the most are units are inviting him and the code talkers as the GOH at their balls. three weeks after the SkyBall, I was in Vegas and he was there attending a unit's ball at the hotel we were using. He left by the time I made it up there to see if this was the same guy. I showed the SgtMaj of the unit his photo and he said "Yep, that's him." He runs around in the Green Digi's with the DI cover on...

Spoke to my cousin ealier today who's good friend from Oki was a Native Indian. Those guys are fanatical about thier service. This is surprising to say the least. My cousin's friend for example is a 1171 (water-boy) with 8th Engineers and was up for the John Archer Lejeune award for bravery this year. Walker from MARSOC would have sat at a table with him as both were nominated for it.
