Hey all.

My parents and I have decided to go on a 12-day cruise to Russia and Scandinavia.

As this is going to be a cruise, the only hotel recommendations I need would be something in London for one or two nights at the end of the cruise. The ship leaves out of Harwich, England. We are planning on flying from Orlando into London, immediately taking the train from London to Harwich, spending the night in Harwich and boarding the cruise ship the next day. Then we will spend a couple of days in London at the end of the cruise before flying home.

I am also asking for some recommendations on must-see things in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, Tallinn, and Gothenburg, Sweden. We were planning on just walking around in those cities or doing a museum or something instead of taking a shore excursion in each one. That gets kind of expensive.

The cruise ship stops in St. Petersburg, Russia for two full days, but we have already chosen a shore excursion(this one (http://www.shoreexcursionsgroup.com/Private-Two-Day-Best-of-St-Petersburg-p/euspdentwoday.htm)) that uses both days.

Here (http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/cruiseDetails/itinerary.do;jsessionid=0000LylrqbANjuPjTz8bf1Lfv4 R:12hdhu6tq?hasSenior=&hasMilitary=&hasFireandPolice=&cruiseType=CO&state=&packageCode=JW12U065&date=201104) is the cruise we are booked on.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations or other wisdom.

Copenhagen:

Tivoli.
Little Mermaid.
Resistance Museum.
Changing of the Guard at the Royal Palace.
Dragon Fountain.
H.C. Anderson's birthplace and gravesite.
The Round Tower Observatory.

Heck, all of Copenhagen is a really cool tourist attraction. A map and a day to just walk around and check stuff out is probably called for...

When in Copenhagen:
When parents are out of sight: Museum Erotica:p Nah, only joking - it's really not worth your time.
Be sure to see Rosenborg Castle though. Thats where they keep the Crown Jewels and the Castle is working as one of the barracks of the Royal Guards.
Grab a beer in Nyhavn - if the weather is good you will be able to se a lot of summer dresses. And the woman who wear them!

Tracy: Not trying to be a smart-ass, but H C Andersens birthplace is in Odense, Fyn and not in Copenhagen. Odense is 2½ hours from Copenhagen.

When in Gothenburg: Visit Volvo and take the tour of the plant. It is amazing - at least it used to be, back in my youth, which, granted, is quite a while ago.
