I got a call from the director of a high school that offers NJROTC. There is an applicant who showed up wearing a Trident, and saying he was a retired SEAL. Of course, his name is nowhere to be found on our database. Among his accomplishments, he also lists "Enlisted Sub School", Nuke power school, Polaris, Poseidon, and Trident transition schools. Go figure.

His name is Charles Joseph McDevitt, Jr. He claims to have joined the Navy in '74. If any of you older Frogs have any different word on this guy, I'm all ears. I've asked the school's director to have this loser call me at work.

More on the neverending saga as it unfolds.....

Interesting. The Department of the Navy is responsible for all JROTC and ROTC hirings, not the school with the ROTC unit. Another false flag.

More info: This guy is already instructing, and did not mention "SEAL" on his original application, but added it after someone saw a picture of this guy in uniform wearing a Trident. He says he finished BUD/S, then transferred to the "missile program" because of "needs of the Navy". The branch director will not tell me exactly where he is, but he teaches somewhere in Florida.

Give me some time and I'll dredge up more on this worm.

This guy sounds real hokey. The only ratings which go to nuc power school are ET, EM, and MM. The missile guys are MTs, and he had to be one for an awful long time if he made the transitions between all three FBM systems. I don't see where he found the time for careers in SpecWar, Nuc Power, and Special Weps.

I know a lot of former Navy Nukes (in fact my father is a former MM1 Nuke) and many of them told me that since they were already Nukes they were considered to have a highly specialized skill and wouldn't be allowed to go to BUD/S if they had wanted to.

Not my area but I really do enjoy a great bust.

When I exited the service I worked for a Bodyguard and Threat Assesment firm. We had many SEAL, GreenBeanie and ex-jarheads. They would thoroughly check any applicant who claimed any SPECOP MOS and any discrepancy was grounds for dismissal.

I went through a 1 hour interview with a Special Forces Sniper who undoubtively was trying to bust me.

Was this idiot claiming any fraudulent awards? Did he forge his DD214, 201, or 2A(or the navys equivilent). It might not be illegal for him to lie about being a SEAL, but it is illegal to forge government documents and wear/claim/ect. unearned awards. I think both are felonies. I would like to see this sh*thead exploited as a liar.

The word from his supervisor's supervisor is that he will probably not be employed much longer. Apparently, they hold periodic review boards for their instructors (kind of a quality assurance thing), and his will be moved up on the schedule. They will bring up the issue in front of the guy, especially the "Navy SEAL pin" (I'm not kidding!) entry on his DD-214, and give him the opportunity to produce other written proof.

I also armed the regional supervisor with Captain Larry Bailey's (USN SEAL retired) e-mail address for further questions or fire support. This guy has no business misrepresenting our community in front of high school kids. I also have to wonder what other qualifications this scum is lying about....
