I was wondering if I could get some validation on my uncle. I have no reason not to believe he was in Force Recon, however whenever I try to talk to him about it, he doesn't even want to say a word to me and instead asks "Why?" or "You really don't want to go that route". It's almost like he gets so defensive when I even bring up Force Recon or Marines in general.

I'm not asking him how many people he has killed or any "Spec Ops" he has done in the day, just what training is like, why he went that route .. etc etc.

I also know I'm not entitled to know or that he doesn't owe me a thing just curious.

His name and info that he said he was, is: Sgt Fogleman, Lee
3533/0311/8654 91/99 MCRD Parris Island 3086 Aug 1991

And even that he didn't tell me, I actually had to look it up and found where he posted back in 2002: http://www.forcerecon.com/fraguestdisplay.asp?fstart=1671

Thanks for the helps guys, I really appreciate it

Where did you drum up the MOS list if he doesn't talk about it. 3533 is logistics vehicle operator, and the primary MOS for that is 35XX or Motor-Tee. Just sayin......

Fogleman eh? McLovin.

One day I got tired of him berating me about joining the Marines and decided to look up Lee Fogleman Force Recon, to see if anything hit. When I typed it into Google, I saw where he posted back in 2002 on that forum. If you click the link, and Alt+F "Lee" his name is the second one to come up and he typed all his information out on that guestbook. Then I just copied and pasted to this forum to see if anyone knew/verify him. I also pasted the link, to show where I got the information.

I mean I know what 35XX is and 0311. When I typed in 8654 into Military.com the titled came up Red and says Recon Scuba and Jump qualified.

Sorry, I don't understand the McLovin reference.

If you go back and look at the FRA thread there are 4 people who are real deals... Those 4 did not post like your Uncle. I would not consider that post a good post.

I appreciate the quick response. Tho it still leaves me with more questions than answers.

Is their anyway of finding out that information based on his name? I was reading that Don Shipley (USN) and all SEALS have access to a "Data Bank" to find out if someone was a SEAL or not. Is that not the case for the Marines?

Thanks again for the help

Recon is not that big we do not need a data base...

As I said there are 4 that have posted. 3 were looking for old Tm mates. The other was one of the bosses... Your Uncle just posted. Not a big deal. Lots of posers have posted on the FRA website. Some have even tried to infiltrate us... Unless he can tell you what Recon company don't take he word... Or invite him here.
