I never really interacted with Tripwire, but I always liked the fact that a guy his age was still so engaged and "with it". This is sad news, but man, what a run.

I think those of us who got to know him are truly better people for it. I got to know him first via SOCNET and PS. Then as I worked on a project with the RICA Rangers he shared some history and stories. Like a true Quiet Professional they were always about the unit, team, individuals but never really about himself as being the center of the story.

I always enjoyed reading his posts, he had the kind of wisdom that can only come from broad experience. The world is a sadder place with his passing.

RIP Tripwire. My thoughts and prayers out to the members of both the SF and the sherriff's department with whom he served; and to his family and friends. Tripwire had so much wisdom from such an amazing life and I am sorry for his passing.

My sincere condolences to your wife, family and all that knew you. Thank you for sharing a part of your life here with us.

We shared stories over vodka martinis one night. Actually he shared, I listened. He retired about the time I went to work at King County and we knew many of the same people.
