The one thing about riding in Utah is there are more trails and trips than you could possibly do in a year of riding so it feels overwhelming trying to pick the 'best' trails. I rode for 7 days straight and only hit a very small portion of what I wanted to do. Once I convince the wife to move out there I will be better positioned to ride all day every day, until the divorce of course.

When I eventually move back to the states, Utah is definitely on my short list of places for exactly the reason you said.

Yep. F'ing amazing riding up here. Now that cold weather has hit, I'm trolling Craigslist and Cycle Trader for my next bike. Not sure what it'll be however. Possibly a Super Naked.

Well, since we have a Motorcycle thread, why not a motorcycle rally thread??

Lets see some pics of MC rally's you've been to. Here's a couple of Myrtle Beach Bike Week (Run to the Sun) in '85. I'll dig up more if I can find'em. Aahh he good 'ol days

The Fat Guy 19 November 2019 14:35

How is this different than what we have in the MC thread? Merged.

nope

Glebo 21 November 2019 08:58

Out of all the bikes shown in the motorcycle thread...no rally pix??? Wow

Ya don't have to post compromising photos, just some shots of the rally...

Unless no one goes to them.

The Fat Guy 21 November 2019 09:27

I would like to go to Sturgis, I also ride in many rides, not rally's per se, but never thought to post pix here. I will see if I can dig some up. We, as many other CVMA members here, do things like escorts for funerals, we escorted the traveling wall for War on Terror casualties, things like that.

A rally like Daytona Beach is too many people in one place for me.

Wait till you get to Sturgis.

bird2778 21 November 2019 11:25

Planning a Sturgis trip for next summer. Never been but it's a bucket list item. Our plan is go a few days before so we can do the riding without the crowds, then hang for a couple days of the rally before we get out of dodge. I'm not a huge fan of the crowds either. Have done Americade a few times. Great riding in that area & it's definitely a more tame crowd than most others.

Glebo 21 November 2019 13:26

I know what ya mean TFG. I didn't think of posting pix either until I was clicking around on my 'puter and found some old pix. Thought they could be a start of a Rally thread.

As said by some, I do more local/charity rides also and very few rally's anymore. Mainly Laconia and Myrtle beach. Thought abt doing Sturgis one yr, but then saw that short lived series on it abt the Saloon there and said F that noise.

To may people, to much of a cluster****

Picking up a new to me bike next week.
Black 2011 Kawasaki Concourse 1400. WOOO! HOOOO!

Glebo 18 December 2019 08:50

That should be a nice smooth ride.. Enjoy, hopefully the WX gets better so ya can put some miles on it..

Headhunter1965 19 December 2019 17:15

After a test ride, I'm passing on the big Kawasaki. It felt way too big and despite having the 1400CC's, it felt fat and slow.

It is hands down far more comfortable than their standard sportbikes, but still has a boatload of pickup. I can't wait.

I commuted on my 03 VFR in Atlanta for 65 miles RT to work 5 days a week rain or shine for 12 months after my divorce in 06 and saw my life flash before my eyes more than once on I-285. It's a miracle that my number didn't come up. I can't imagine doing it now with how much texting is going on. I'll take my rides up here in the mountains all day long......

Duuuuuude! I came upon a motorcycle wreck several years ago. Great big dude! I did CPR till the ambulance arrived, I knew the guy was gone, as he was serious messed up and I suspect he bled out internally from impact! Sad deal, he had just bought the bike, a yellow, honda goldwing and just retired from the RR. A dude was texting and crossed the centerline and took the guy out. He was bugging me while I was doing CPR, what a douche!

He should fry. I see these idiots all the time and have been almost taken out twice just last year.

The Fat Guy 4 February 2020 02:05

Merged again to the Motorcycle Thread.

On an aside, HD is coming out with a bike similar to your Honda CV. I still like your bike, though.

I just looked up that accident (sorry for the derail). It was August 2011. Paul Betsinger passed away at the scene. Heath Erlandson, the driver of the car, passed away in 2016( I just found this out) from addiction. Sad deal all the way around!

So after having the Harley for two years now, she is now in for an engine upgrade. Going with this big-bore kit from S&S to take the displacement up to 124 CI (2010 CCs) and the HP should go from ~88 to ~135.

Getting a 550 cam, new oil pump...and everything shown in the link above. My buddy Eddie Delzani is doing the work.

I also found out that my cat is still in, and he is going to remove it. Already have S&S pipes on it.

Stay tuned.....

Outstanding! I'm running a 113CI S&S in my bike. The torque is impressive. Keep us posted!
