Unarmed Maritime Security, Gulf of Mexico

SB Approved

Gents I have a very short suspense on some really easy unarmed, static/mobile security posts at some offshore platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. The information is still trickling in.

Requirements:

Must have a Transportation Workers's Identification Credential. (TWIC) and current HUETT Training and experience working offshore or on a vessel is preferred, but not mandatory. Experience in static and roving security is also preferred.

Pay for those meeting the requirements listed above is $400 a day and partial travel pay is available. Shifts are 12hrs overtime is available if you work over those 12. Shifts are 14 days at a time on an offshore platform, with the possibility of going an entire month at sea, but only if you want.

This is really easy work for $400 a day.

If you meet everything but the HUETT, reply anyway, we may be able to get you in.

If you have worked for a BTDT here, make sure you let me know.

Send me bullet points on relevant experience and quals plus your contact information (Mobile and email) to me via PM, ASAP.

Interested and Ready

Sir,
I have a TWIC but not the Huett. In a former Marine with 8+ years of High Threat Security Experience. I'm also a certified Texas Peace Officer and currently provide security in the Oil and Gas sector in the EagleFord shale area. Please let me know where to submit my resume. Thank you

Gents,

Looks like the TWIC and HUETT is mandatory to start and I am getting pressured to provide names. To date, no one has both requirements.

I will keep you posted.

Sounds like a good opportunity w/ good pay.

I wish I qualed.

I will fwd to a former leather and roughneck buddy of mine..

Thanks for the heads up TFG

TFG,
I may have some soldiers looking for work that are in the AO.

The Fat Guy 23 March 2015 08:51

Gents,

Thanks for all of your notes. If you do not have the CERTS mentioned (TWIC and HUET) you will not be considered.

The sure thing on this is about 2 months, it may go through November. I am not asking anyone to spend their own money to get these certs in anticipation of working this gig.

As of now, I have 2 solids and one probable of the three I need. If you both certs and they are current, send me your contact information. Time is of the essence.

I would love to do this gig,

I checked out getting a TWIC cert, they said the delay/turn around time following application is 60 days... Would this be a waste if I tried to apply now? Or will this job still have slots 60-90 days from now?

Bobby.Hill.462 16 May 2015 09:58

Is this job still available? For the past year and a half I've been working and offshore company in the Gulf of Mexico, I have a TWIC card, MMD, and Huet training. I also served 5 years in the Marine Corps, please let me know if this is still available.

Gents,

I have 3 guys working this gig and the possibility of more positions. If you have the certs, send me a PM, if not, you will not be considered. Right now, I have enough qualified guys for two more vessels, I am waiting on the work. If I get to where I need more qualified guys, I will post here.

TFG,

Any chance this might go longer than Sept. or be renewed for another contract? Looks like the HUET course is offered fairly often and roughly $150-$200 and the TWIC card (currently a 60 day wait FYI) is $128. I'd pay for those if it meant getting on board this or something similar.

The Fat Guy 9 June 2015 22:21

Right now, the project is going well, but the facts remain its on until Sep. If anything changes, I will post it here.

Gents,
I applied for my TWIC card and received it 9 days later. Right now looking to head to CT for the HUETT. Unless anyone knows of a place that does it in NYC.
