New contracts awarded

Hey guys, just read this today. Anyone familiar with what the contracts are for? It’s pretty vague.

According to the Department of Defense 5 companies will compete for each order of the $4,000,000,000 contract for security support services. Bids were solicited via the internet with seven received.

Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Nov. 1, 2024.

AWARDEES:

Aegis Defense Services LLC, McLean, Virginia (W52P1J-19-D-0001)
Janus Global Operations LLC, Lenoir City, Tennessee (W52P1J-19-D-0002)
Reed International Inc., Leesburg, Virginia (W52P1J-19-D-0003)
Sallyport Global Services, Reston, Virginia (W52P1J-19-D-0004)
Triple Canopy Inc., Reston, Virginia (W52P1J-19-D-0005)

1) that website is known for stealing other peoples articles.
2) most of the contracts are on FBO and list the details. If you can’t see the details, then you’re not in a position where you need to know.
3) the company’s websites should tell you if they are hiring for those contracts.

Very vague since apparently I need to pay to read the article...

Janus and Sallyport are the same award. The fifth award was SOC (listed as Day & Zimmermann).

SSS

This is for DOD's version of WPS. The contract is built for physical security support services within various FOBS around CENTCOM. There will be several types of security positions posted for each task order.

Right now, DOD is yet to release any task orders but the task order that is up for bidding next will be in Afghanistan. I would expect work to be around mid-late 2019.

Janus and Sallyport are not the same company. They fall under the same umbrella but operate separately from one another and do not support each others contracts. Also, Sallyport gave up their slot on SSS to SOC.

Fair enough. I guess I got some bad info from a SOC VP.

But I am curious why any awardee would "give up" their slot on a $4B IDIQ to a direct competitor.

Sharky, Sallyport gave up their slot because them and Janus both operate under Caliburn International.

Any word if they’ll have K9 clin’s under these contracts? My curiosity has been piqued.
