Iran

Well a deal has been struck. I guess we don't have to worry about Iran anymore as we are all buddies now.

Forget about:

The Marine barracks bombing in Beirut
The embassy bombing in Beirut
James Dozier kidnapped, tortured and executed
A dozen others like Dozier
The American Embassy in Tehran
And how many US dead in Iraq due to the constant supply of EFPs from Iran?

King Obama and Queen Kerry say it's all good now. Rest easy.

Made me want to puke when POTUS was doing his speech.

I have full faith Iran will follow the treaty to the letter.

Add another triumph for the king's legacy. That's all that matters and people are too stupid to know any better.

RedDawg_03 14 July 2015 09:30

There is going to be some terrible events that ripple out from this stone that has been cast into the water.

That will be his legacy.

SOTB 14 July 2015 09:32

I excuse fmr-Pres Carter, as he was a useless president -- more worried about which woman's pants he could get in than anything going on in the world -- including Iran -- but from Presidents Reagan and onward, each of them are responsible for Americans dying at the hands of the govt of Iran. And each of them will share in the future events should Iran succeed and develop nuclear weapons (or any other serious WMD).

We should all be sickened by the events leading up to, and the signing of this treaty....

POTUS Clinton you mean? Not arguing, but in your opinion---what action (s) did Reagan initiate that resulted in the deaths of Americans? Most of his presidency was consumed with the Russians. Was it US support to Iraq during their 1980-88 war with Iran? The whole Oliver North scandal?

I only made through the first paragraph.

Well put, this sums up the evolution of the process and the outcome. This will only allow an enemy to keep us closer, not vice-versa as it is being spun.

TerribleDan 14 July 2015 09:55

Spot on Sharky. I wish I could say this was unbelievable but I think most of us knew it was coming.

Fubar 14 July 2015 10:05

Our politicians have no shame.....
Never ever vote in an incumbent.

Chimo 14 July 2015 10:15

I can't listen to a word POTUS says anymore. 99% is BS and the other 1% is um, ah. It won't be long until the USA and all of the Islamic and communist counties of the world will hold hands and sing kumbaya.

Longrifle 14 July 2015 10:27

It's OK, because we have "peace in our time."

The King is playing doctor with himself while Iran is playing chess, and they know the origin of the words check mate.

Nukes will still be a challenge for Iran to produce, probably never in large numbers.

Still, we all know where the first one is going to be detonated.

And we all know what the US response will be.

Our country's balls have fallen off replaced with a gaping vagina that is open for fucking.

Ordering U.S. Marines to Beirut to act as fucking peace-keepers.

As I recall, Carter admitted to having "lust in my heart." Wasn't that to Playboy?

COL Beckwith's Delta Force gave some interesting insight into the utter ineptitude of Carter's inner circle of advisors during hostage crisis.

Seems like it's déjà vu all over again.

CPTAUSRET 14 July 2015 10:59

That sucks!

I do not mean to lead this thread astray, but here is a Kerry story.

Somewhere on here I posted about the time Kerry told me, my wife, Theresa, and everyone else at his table all about when and how I saved his life in VN. He had my call-sign, the date, time of day, number of Cobras I was leading, all of it.

He was standing, speaking loudly, and basically making a speech to everyone in earshot at the National Building Museum. I had already stepped on my dick with President Clinton, and didn't want to make waves, so I held my comments.

As we were walking away from his table I said to my beautiful wife, who had the National Medal of Science hanging around her neck. Do you believe any of that BS, Nancy replied "Of course I do, why wouldn't I"? I said, "Well it was over 30 years ago, how would he remember it all that well"? Nancy said "He wasn't there very long, he kept a detailed diary, and he certainly would have noted every aspect of that action in his diary."

I told this story on another site, and was asked by a friend who Sharky also knows, and who used to be a BTDT here, whether or not knowing what I know now, if I would do it again.

It was a serious question. I replied "Of course I would he is an American."

Wasn't it President Reagan that prevented the sale of F-14s to Iran? Didn't Iran pretty much crap their pants when he was inaugurated? True, he was preoccupied in dealing with the Soviet Bear, and watching their failings in Afghanistan, but I think President Bush Sr. tenure would more of a starting point for "events onward".

BTW, those F-14s are still sitting in preservation status, just waiting for a treaty like this.
