Goar Vartanian/Operation Long Jump

A WW2 legend Goar Vartanian passed away yesterday, aged 93. Her and her husband Gevork are best known for foiling the Nazi plot to assassinate the allied leaders - Roosevelt, Churchill, and Stalin - during the 1943 Teheran conference (aka Operation Long Jump). Mrs. Vartanian's code name was Anita.

The world could have been a very different place today if it wasn't for her courage and dedication.

In today's quest to find women heroes, it is shameful that such great women are rarely mentioned. Rest Peacefully, Anita.

What an incredible story these two had to tell! It is sad that very little is ever mentioned on a national level about heroes such as Goar and Gevork. Our news channels certainly would not give it a nod. Rest in Peace, Heroes!
