Totally informal for my knowledge only poll....Those that got divorced in the last year:

How many of you were retired military?
How many were on a second marriage?
How old you are?
State you live in.

Thanks! I am super curious about the reasons behind why people do what they do.

80% of them are filed by women, so... you'd have to ask them.

Last week my best friend told me that his wife is wanting a divorce. I knew they had minor communication issues but nothing more than anyone else.

It just seems strange that she just received a massive promotion and then this comes up. It seems that she doesn't care about the kids, or trying to work on anything.

We met during our Freshman year of HS, and I have never seen him like this.

Same thing that happened to me when my ex-wife left in 2013. Since I had custody of the kids (11 & 7 at the time), I just put full effort into making sure they had everything they needed. It really helped me mentally to have something else to focus on.

I was blindsided when my divorce finally happened several years ago. I thought we'd found something that worked, but in retrospect it wasn't a marriage by that point and hadn't been for a LONG time. We are both happier now, and everything was totally amicable.

Absolutely. Please feel free to PM me if you just need to vent.

Divorce is such a hard thing to deal with, especially with kids involved. Both my husbands walked on me and left me with nothing, so I feel for those of you dealing with that.

Chemo. Not cook/distribute meth for money hate, but sucks none the less.

However, I am fortunate I think. The only side effect I have had/have so far is extremities being sensitive to cold (just started) and winter starting. When cold, feels like when your hand/arm/feet "fall asleep" and begin waking up; the needles feeling. I guess if that is the only effect I get (knock on wood), and being fatigued, then it is a mid-level hate.

Ugh. There are some things in life I swear I never want to experience if I can help it. Stay strong and this too, shall pass.

I will quit bitching about my meniscus and just wait till they fix it on the 15th.
