Howdy folks

Hello everyone. My name is Brian and I will be completing the UXO Tech I course through Texas A&M TEEX in January. I'm 29yrs old and I've decided to end a successful career with BMW of North America to pursue a career in the UXO field. I have a lovely wife that stands beside me and we have two young sons, a three year old and a 2 month old. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous about starting over with a new career. So I hope to learn as much about the community as possible by January. I want to know what the jobs are like and if they are really out there. The UXO community seems to be pretty tight knit, which is nice to see. I'm into guns(novice), cars, salt water aquariums, and most of all, my family.

SWATDOG

Hello Everyone. I am new to the group and look forward to hearing stories and discussing various topics. I am a 20 year law enforcement officer with experience in SWAT, K9, Patrol, Investigations, HazMat, WMD Response.

Some areas I am currently interested in is training. Defensive tactics, knife defense, Aikido.

I work at a larger Police Department here in Iowa. I found this site through a friend who flew apache helicopters in Vietnam.

Hello to All!
I am former Marines, and possibly may end up going NG, LE, or Marine Reserves in the next month. I am currently working as a DOD Contractor, but am looking to work in more of a tactical environment in the near future.

I look forward to learning more from all of your experience in many different subjects!

Pardon me, Stough, but what is an Assaultman? I'm former Army and am not familiar with the term. I would assume, a dangerous thing to do around here btw, it is a specialized type of Infantryman? And welcome to SOCNET, lots of good guys and gals here with a wealth of opinions, knowledge, experience, and opinions.

Not to speak for Stough, but USMC MOS 0351 is Assaultman/Demolitions. Mostly dealing with SMAW gunnery. Pretty much a Grunt that carries a SMAW in addition to his rifle.

The best description of an assaultman 0351 can be found here.

Hello All,
I am obviously new to this forum. I am a 20 year law enforcement veteran with experience in Corrections, Investigations, Road Patrol, K9 Handling (hence the screen name), SWAT and Supervision. I joined because I'm currently in the process to be a EDD K9 handler overseas with SOC LLC and wanted to reach out to some folks who know a bit about that sort of thing. Thanks for having me. Regards.

Hi, my names Ed living in NH. I'm a USAF vet MH53J Pave Low Crew Chief 16th EMS/20th SOS Hurlburt Field AFB 1993-97. Recently I've become involved in firearm training being lucky to live close to Sig Academy. I enjoy shooting, hunting, admiring my beard in the mirror and long walks on the beach(lol).
I look forward to learning from this forum.

Introduction

Texan here, about to go before an Army OCS board in October. No prior service. I wanted to join the armed services my whole life. My grandfather was an Air Force Major and my father served in the Army. I am trying to decide Information Operations (PsyOps) or Military Intelligence that assists the Special Operations community. I look forward to interacting on various threads.
