Greetings, I was a crew chief on UH-1H until fall of the USSR, your welcome...jumped to Air Force Reserves C-130 and retired. I work for Uncle Sugar and just had a SOCOM briefing. I was reminded of CSM Lupyak, a Son Tay Raider and a friend of my dad. My Dad also a SGM knew CSM Lupyak and his wife from Germany. Three of my brothers and I all joined the Army and served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Glad I found this site.

You're welcome? Since you're a new guy, I'll clue you in- many of us served during the "Cold War", (some the entire length and retired during the Cold War) so I'll just advise you to have a healthy helping of humble pie as you navigate our site.

and thank you for your service...

I served as an enlisted airman in Aerospace Rescue and Recovery during the late 1960s and early 1970s. I was not a PJ. I served as an administrative assistant to the squadron commanders. After discharge, I became an elementary school teacher and retired several years ago. I live on my ranch in south-central Oregon.

More important that anything I might say about myself is the sad news that two Air Combat Controllers, Staff Sgt. Forrest B. Sibley of the 21st Special Tactics Squadron and Capt. Matthew D. Roland of the 23rd Special Tactics Squadron were killed two days ago, in Afghanistan near Camp Antonik. RIP.

Good afternoon all! I am new to the forum! I served in the Army as part of the Active First Program for 2 years and then in the Tennessee Army National Guard for remainder of my contract in Communications. I am here to learn and to utilize the knowledge of all you great people to help me better do my job on the civilian side of life- which is Contract Security and Staffing for manufacturing facilities and other similar industries.

Thank you all for having me, humbled to be here.

I'm a forward observer. Have served in the 82nd and 10th Mountain. Most of my time here will be spent lurking the fire support area to hopefully add any little new piece of knowledge to my expertise and connect with other fire supporters from around the military.

Again, thank you all for having me. And thank you all for your service.

Hello all,

CW2 351M here that is leaving active duty after 12 years. Possibly looking at returning to being an NCO and going SF after encouragement by a few friends in various groups. Just want to thank the community for having this excellent resource for folks considering joining the ranks of the best of the best.

I'm here to be a sponge.

Rakkasan!

Doc,

We served in The Legion at the same time. Send me your Bona Fides so we can vet you as verified SOF.
