Also, Go Dawgs!
NC State is the sexy pick to beat FSU and Clemson and be a playoff team. They will have the defense to do it, but smart money says they lay an egg in one or two meaningless games.

In a few minutes Ohio State and Indiana will kick off.

I cannot wait to see what the Buckeyes offense will look like since they acquired Indiana's former head coach and also a coach from Miami of Ohio.

(Lets hope my cable holds out till the end of the game before they shut it off)

Saturday Texas AM kicks off the season with UCLA. This could be Sumlin's last year. I think the school and alumni are tired of his mid season slump.

Cable will not be set up yet at the house in Durham so we will have to go out and watch the Games.

I also want to see Michigan vs Florida

My wife's alma mater, UCF, scored their second highest total in many years beating a very dirty playing FIU.

Looking forward to UM-Florida. I'm always hopeful for my Wolverines at this point in the season.

Sadly for my Gators, that's true.

My favorite game this weekend has to be the Alabama/FSU matchup. Not because I have a rooting interest, or that it will probably be a pretty good game, either.

It's the fact that on their first games of the new season, one of the teams ranked in top 4 is going to lose. I want to see a lot of that this season, top ranked teams getting beat early and often, and then as the season progresses I want to continue to see those teams occupying that space lose.

Might as well treat the whole season as a football playoff, because the system they currently have in place isn't worth a damn. Another season of musical chairs begins!

Va Tech and WVU should be a pretty evenly matched game.

That Bama FSU game should be a barn burner.

Penn State took down their first tomato can (that's Doug Buffone lingo for "bottom feeder") today, beating Akron 52-0.

Not unexpected, but there's a good chance they'll move up from #6 when either Alabama or FSU loses tonight. Always warms my heart to know in advance that at least one of the top 4 teams is going to lose.

Not thrilled with Michigan at the half. No way should we have given up 14 points like that.

Florida's offense is terrible again. Their suspended starters may have made a difference. Maybe not. Nothing else, Florida still hasn't had a QB since Tebow.

I don't think the starters would have made much difference. Despite our offensive miscues, our defense just rolled today. Florida only had 3 offensive points.

Gamecocks just took it to 'em. I don't know if this loss qualifies as meaningless yet as SC has plenty of time to lose lots of games. I have waited 20 years for NC State to break out. They have been on the fringe of being good for a long time; I hope this is their year.
