Brazilian lawyer specialized in Direito Penal Militar (our armed forces version of UCMJ) and family law. Conscripted to a mechanized infantry unit but wasn't selected to serve due to the excess of candidates on my age group.

I'm afraid it's not that interesting. Here in Brazil we still have conscription for every male at age 18. You enlist in the nearest army/navy/air force unit and go through physical exams and interviews. If you are selected, then the following year you'll serve 7 to 12 months in said military unit, going through a basic course done locally and then the usual... gardening and sentry duty with the (very) occasional mission.

If you are not selected, you return to make your oath to the flag and are placed in the reserves, where in theory you can be called to serve at any given time, but unless there is a war it won't happen.

Thank you for having me. I'm a 55 y/o male served in the US Army from 1983 - 1986 as a 15E Pershing.
I've owned a trucking company for 23 years and have been working in the automotive industry for the past 8 years. Riding my Harley is my therapy and shooting guns is another stress release.
Thank you for allowing me to post.

Hello everyone, I've been lurking around this forum for a while and decided to finally make an account. I'm nothing more than your average college student and I'm excited to be able to learn a little bit more from this amazing forum.
