3/75 Check...

Does anyone in the AO have a manifest for 3rd's jump into Rhino? My buddy has an old college buddy claiming he enlisted after college and went to 3rd Batt. Not exactly sure of dates, but is claiming to have made the jump.

Name is John Curtis Bilberry. Sometimes goes by Curt Bilberry. He's making a name for himself in the TX Country Music scene. Mysapce here:

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...ndid=191245846

Basically, my buddy said he was full of shit in college, and just wants to make sure he's not posing about this. If he's legit, then he wants to buy the dude a beer and shoot the shit. Thanks for any help here.

Dont have a manifest, as they never did hand one out, but I can give you enough questions to ask that only someone who was there would be able to answer...... PM me for details.

I can say that I do not know a Bilberry, but then again he could have been in another element.

I was A. Co. 3/75 from '99-'03 and don't recall the name. He could have been new a new Ranger when OEF kicked off, so I may not have been familiar with him. I wasn't able to get the myspace link to work. Pretty unique name though.

There isn't a manifest, but there is blanket orders for the service star. I had a copy in my attic until the owner picked them up last week. Maybe in a few months they'll be back up there and I can check for you.

Jeff, I don't know him. Someone asked me to check him out.

Wearman: PM out.

All others, thanks for the info. I'll continue to monitor, so far though it's not looking too good for the guy.

I checked out his myspace yesterday while it was still active and if I recall correctly it stated that him and the band he fronts had been a staple around the Texas country music scene for the last 10 yrs....if thats the case and I woke up today and its still only 2008, that would not jive with the timeline of jumping in 2001, or even being in the active duty Army..

Just a thought

Yeah, I think the 10 years in the Texas music scene is a big stretch. I've never heard of him, and being a Texan who's fairly big into the Texas singer/songwriter stuff, that's saying a little anyway. Like I said in post #1, my buddy said he was a bullshiter in college, so that explains the "10 years" thing.

I still want to verify his service in 3rd Batt and whether or not he made the jump.

I was in C Co and did the jump. I don't know this dude at all. Never heard of him. And it's still soon enough that I would have but I've got my orders right here...

PM Paranutz. He was in B Co., at the time.

Some of his buddies are still in the Battalion and at least one that I know is an RI, now.

He keeps in touch with them now and then.

So I couldn't find my orders for the star. I found my gay little certificate they gave us but like I said if he was in C Co I would have remembered. I did find my orders and roster for the shoulder sleeve insignia, Unit Expiditionary w arrowhead device and orders for the CIB. He's not on any of them...

buuckIVranger, thanks for the research. I imagine those orders for the shoulder sleeve insignia, unit award, and CIB would have included him if he was there. So I think it may be safe to say that not only was he not on the jump, he wasn't in 3rd Batt, at least not during this time frame.

I'll pass the word. Thanks again all.

Unless he joined (or came back to) the band after he ETS'ed.
