Common Range Qual for OCONUS work

I have been trying to locate what the common range qualification would be for overseas jobs? I am currently getting my security clearance and background done for a K9 job and will need to qual.

Not my area of expertise, but I think the different contracts or .gov organizations have slightly different requirements. Search through here as I know some of these requirements have been discussed historically. Maybe even a range POI around somewhere. Welcome to SOCNET.

I don't think there is a common range qual when considering the number of companies with varying contract requirements.

With that said, some do not disclose their range qual requirements, so you will need to be more specific when asking for specific range quals for the company and contract you are applying for.

It's a long and sometime frustrating process waiting for clearances and info for contracts.

Diplomatic Security/WPPS Pistol Course
40 rounds total - start w/a magazine of 13 and 1 in the chamber plus 2 mags of 13
25 yds (barricaded) - 2 rounds in 6 seconds
15 yards - 6 rounds in 10 seconds
7 yards - 6 rounds combat reload and fire 6 more in 12 seconds
3 yards - 7 rounds in 4 seconds (two handed shooting) combat reload
3 yards - 2 rounds in 2 seconds x 3 (6 rounds total)
3 yards - 7 rounds in 4 seconds (strong hand only)

My timings might be off a bit but I think that is really close. Can't recall the M4 or SAW qual off the top of my head.

M4/Mk18/ACOG/EOTech/Iron Sights Qual for WPPS

60 rounds, 300 is a perfect score. 240 to pass.

100 yards 15 rounds in 75 seconds prone

100 yards 10 (5/5) in 65 seconds kneeling/prone

50 yards 10 in 35 seconds kneeling

25 yards 10(5/5) in 30 seconds standing/kneeling

25 yards 10 in 20 seconds standing

15 yards 5 in 8 seconds standing

As a Jarhead, you shouldn't have a problem with the rifle qual.

Neither of those two sound very hard - what kind of target scoring are they using?

Yup. Some bragging about their status as a Recon Marine and such up until the targets were scored.

Wow! That's pathetic. SAW I understand but rifle qual not at all.

Combat reload is 14 secs. Just got back from FFORC not too long ago.

Also, you probably already know the qual is scheduled to change slightly to incorporate some firing while kneeling.

The pistol qual DSSRonin listed above is extremely easy. I teach and train locals who have never picked up a gun who can usually qual first time after a few hours of class and handling/dry fire.

Pretty sure I'm eligible for the AARP/age waiver on the kneeling portion

I'm guess from the rifle performance standards and Izzy tgts that the Pistol max is 200 with 160 being a 'passing' score?

Correct - 160 out of 200 is passing.

Hell, I've had DDM's that couldn't even get a 285! @Mike, you should be good with the rifle and pistol qual.
