DOD Civilian

I am currently a Temporary DOD civilian working for the Army. My pay grade is WG-10 with a Small Arms Repairman position. I am living in New Jersey, and looking for opportunities to move back to Texas or Nevada. I would like to become permanent and hopefully retire working for the government.
Any advices on how can I easily transfer?
What should I do to become a permanent employee?
Anybody knows of any positions to be opened sometime by the end of the year?

This thread had the appropriate title so I thought it would work.

Question in regards to Sunday Premium Pay while deployed to OND and or OEF.
Are DOD civilians receiving Sunday Premium pay while deployed? The work week is 12 hours a day, seven days a week. 90-120 day deployments.

Any inputs are appreciated.

Not really an answer, but depends on the DoD organization and how they are budgeting during the CR nonsense. Some DoD orgs that have traditionally been accomodating with OT and premium pay are poised to tell their employees to work 80 hour pay periods. I hope those poor bastards enjoy ther weekends off in Ghazni.
