I think Leo was brilliant in this film and should be a contender for the Oscar. I wouldn’t be surprised if Pitt is also nominated.

*******SPOILERS********

The film really turned for me when he started playing the role of Caleb Dakota (?). That was close to Daniel Day-Lewis level of acting. I was laughing at the scene in the trailer and I’ll admit that I’ve had a few of those conversations in my life. I loved the entire sequence of Pitt at the ranch. Who thought the old man was actually alive and in that room?

Oh, and Margot Robbie is smoking hot.

I dont get the "REJECT your hypothesis" comment...

The question certainly did cause him to put on his best poo-poo face for the next few minutes.

The wife and I saw it last night. It is slow moving and drags at times. DiCaprio and Pitt both do well. But, to me especially if you know the history Manson, the ending was brilliant.
Not one of QT's best, but a very good one and one you probably want to see twice to catch any nuances you missed the first time.

They should have cut out the middle hour or so. It really dragged on but the end was fuckin amazing! You don't see what's coming next the whole movie. I was the only one in the theater laughing during the last scene.

I guess I was unclear, IT SUCKED!

To elaborate, if a movie takes 3/4 of its length to finally hit its stride, then it sucks. Furthermore, I've seen enough of Tarantino's films to be unimpressed with this one as its not even in his top 5. The dialog wasn't impressive (as you normally expect in his films) and neither was the acting or editing. I'd recommend waiting for on-demand or another streaming service because you can watch it from bed and get a good night's sleep after about the first 15-minutes.

Tarantino hasn't made a decent movie since the 90's.

Loved it. There was allot of anticipation of the ending, knowing who his neighbors were. Boy was I wrong.
And the Dog was awesome.. Too bad they dont make that dog food for real...

Interesting commentary on Cliff’s character and other parts of the movie:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/screenr...kill-wife/amp/

The biography of the real man Cliff’s character was based on. Korean War paratrooper and stuntman.

Both links are pretty interesting and without doubt, add to my appreciation of the movie.

I finally had a chance to watch this over the weekend. I wasn't as impressed as others. I will say Pitt did a great job playing Cliff. I just have a hard time seeing DiCaprio as anything other than DiCaprio. There's only been 2-3 movies where his character was believable (Gilbert Grape, Inception and maybe Blood Diamond). He needs other really good actors to make him do well...like Pitt in this film or Depp in Gilbert Grape.

Ain’t no way. That’s your own bias. The Aviator, The Departed, Wolf of Wall Street, Gangs of NY, Body of Lies. He was great in those movies. He should have gotten his Oscar for WoWS not Reverent.

I enjoyed it. Great soundtrack too.
It reminds me that California used to be interesting and cool before it turned into a hellhole of idiocy.
I dislike hippies intensely so finale holds a special place in my heart.
