If you like the AUG, get the NATO stock setup and use the same mags as any M4 you may also have. Flat top for any type sight/optic you want. I don't have a Tavor (I probably should have) but with that gun just buy a spare .300 barrel to be GTG with that, now you have a 2 caliber gun. NATO mags. Gas system takes 5 seconds to adjust from supersonic to reliable subsonic function for the two types of .300 ammo. Pretty quiet with a can, even with supersonic ammo, I have shot that set up.

If you can process all that and still think a "pistol" is the way to go I don't know what to tell you. JMHO, YMMV.

Nor have AR15 platform with a 7" tube.

Customs was kind of chaffed to have to give up their AUG's, they used them for what, 20 years and thought highly of them.

Tavor is in service with IDF, yes?
Thailand, Indian SF, and Israel using the Tavor now. Thai army replaced ARs with the Tavor.

Australia, Austria of course using the AUG. Luxemberg troops used in Afghan ( I know, their Army is like 50 guys lol), but they made a really good AUG maintenance video in Afghan that has gone viral in the AUG community.

The big disadvantage is the cost. You could buy two Colt LE6920 with magpul furniture for the price of one AUG or TAVOR.

But, yeah, see no reason at all to hassle with a SBR or AR pistol, when you could go with Tavor or AUG. The Tavor is readily available in 9mm and .300 blackout also.

I thought the VFG was a nogo from the start. I don't really think much of them, other than a point of memory for your c clamp grip. I never used them on my AR pistols.

Bullpups= crap IMO

I believe the AR pistol regs are purposely vague, but since I own no firearms it doesn't impact me.

26" or less OAL is the magic "No Go" number. Since a pistol can be any length, 12.5/13.7/14.5" barrels and above can have them. There are actually longer buffer tubes, so if you use one of those, 11.5" may be doable, but probably not 10.x"

Got a call at work from a LGS in NJ asking if we carry AR barrels in 12.5” lengths, I replied sorry we do not currently stock that length, and asked
why he was looking for such a length?, as we do stock 7.5, 8.5, and 14.7” AR barrels.

He said he needed it for a customerÂ’s build, and the current laws in Jersey now allow AR pistols..

He specified what requirements the AR pistol laws say..
Must have:
12.5” bbl threaded to accept muzzle device
26” OAL not including brace
Arm Brace
Must have foregrip or hand stop

Now I wasnÂ’t able to get him to cite the specific NJ State laws that says AR Pistols are legal now- where they were not before IIRC.. and I only ask here
because I could not find any laws online specifying legal status.

Anybody know anything new about AR Pistols being legal to own in the Garden State?

Thanks
‘H

DCH: It's not that AR pistols are legal, it's just that things that are "firearms" as per ATF, rather than classified as a rifle, pistol, SBR, or AOW, are legal there.

Got it, the dude on the other end made it seem like some breakthrough
for NJ AR pistol owners as far as their gun laws.

Mighty appreciative sir
