Investigatively, build the best case you can with what you've got. If the case is dependent on the results of the search warrant, I have a hard time seeing how you can objectively make it within constitutional guidelines without the targets simply giving up, or taking measures to mitigate that risk....takeaway the targets outside of the residence. Use a ruse to get them to the door and snatch them.
I’m curious as to how long you wait after the first knock and “police with a warrant”.

I feel for all the LE involved. Its seems everything I see locally involving assaulting or shooting of an officer is DV calls. I've heard of 1 or 2 occasions of it happening serving warrants.

I guess it depends on Department policy on the type of warrant it is. I saw Lumpkin County, Ga. Sheriff's Deputies serve a felony warrant. They weren't fucking around. Officers at both entrances & both sides of the house had a Deputy with shotgun.

If it’s discovered that he lied and made up intel for the warrant, he needs to be charged with double murder.

More at the Chronical

The CI had worked for HPD previously. HPD has not yet announced how much heroin they got in the controlled buy.

Quote:
The drug probe leading up to the botched bust started on Jan. 8, when officials say an anonymous caller phoned police to complain that her daughter was "doing drugs" inside the Harding Street home.

When officers showed up, they didn't see any suspicious activity, but stopped a passerby to ask if she'd called 911. She hadn't, but - according to what Acevedo told reporters at a Jan. 31 press conference - the woman allegedly turned back to her phone call and said, "Hey the police are at the dope house."

The informant came out of the house, according to the court filing, and turned over a packet of a brown powder described as "boy," which is slang for heroin.

The informant also warned police of a "large quantity" of drugs inside, packaged in plastic baggies, and a 9mm handgun, according to the court filing.
Quote:
Ultimately, investigators found small amounts of marijuana and cocaine, but no heroin. They also found two 12-gauge shotguns, a 20-gauge shotgun, a .22-caliber rifle and a second rifle — but no 9mm handgun described in the warrant.
It doesn't look good that what the informant told them was in the house was missing the next day. If there wasn't much traffic, how do they move a "large amount" in a day....and no 9mm handgun (unless the .22 looked like a typical semi-auto).

Sounds like someone is going to have some explaining to do, and maybe a new mailing address soon.
