The Official 2019 NFL Thread

Well, tis close to another season of Roger Goodell and Jay Z's wide world of 'What the fuck were we thinking.'

My Redskins will likely suck...but, I think the Browns will be the team everyone's talking about this year. I might try and stomach a few games...but.

Early predictions?

The Jets will not make the playoffs.

Again.

Don't you post that, word for word, each and every year in this thread?

In some fashion, yes.

But not word for word.

And when have I been wrong?

Josh Gordon has been reinstated by the NFL. Guess that off-season training with Tom Brady will be worth it after all. The Patriots never relinquished the rights to his contract, because they're the most forward looking team in football. So, get ready for more grief Pats haters!

I wasn't disagreeing with you. Low expectations are better for your blood pressure anyway.

The Browns never relinquished his rights after 3 suspensions. If he wasn't so immensely talented he wouldn't be on either team. So I suppose Cleveland was even more forward thinking considering how many suspensions they weathered and the draft pick they received in the trade.

Plus we got OBJ to replace him. Go Browns! Dawg check.

The AFC East has a 42 year old QB (GOAT?) and 3 second year QB's starting. I think Darnold takes a jump this season and if Bell gets rolling they're O could compliment a decent D and maybe sneak into the playoffs.

Why do you guys put any faith in Darnold? He was hot and cold at USC, he wasn't all that hot last year. Overrated IMHO. I'd like to see the kid prove me wrong, but I doubt it.

And Tuna Parcells is a consultant.

Sigi... Browns looking pretty decent in the first half, provided that they sat almost all of their starters from jump street. With this new format where they “scrimmage“ the other team for two days prior to the preseason game, I guess they figured out all the stuff they needed from their starters during the scrimmages. Makes for a not so fun televised game for the fans, though.

Teams practicing against each other should eliminate the need for preseason games, or at least two of them. Four is way too many in my opinion.

Also.....we need a kicker.

Browns look good in the preseason - both 1st and 2nd teams.

Hard to see how the Lions are doing. I'm hoping Patricia has some untelevised magic up his sleeve.

I'm interested in seeing what the Redskins do this year after losing over half of their front office. I think Haskins will be the Skins starter by mid-season.

Browns look tough.

If Brady stays healthy the Pats will win the Super Bowl again.

Interesting to see Andrew Luck retire yesterday. His explanation was good. I admire him for calling it early. He probably could have stuck it out another 10 years and slugged his way through it. I found it refreshing him basing it on self-preservation and his loss of love for the game.

I predict the Raiders will still suck. Even with AB. Sadly

I’ve enjoyed watching Hard Knocks. AB is too much of a diva. It’s the same helmet everyone else has to wear, so put it on and STFU.
