Oh yeah, and the fact that I thought you wanted dead bait, so I brought you one. We should put that little joker in cast iron, fully bathed in bacon juice... :D

You must be thinking of something else. I have no idea what you're talking about. I do remember someone paddling 8 miles past the campsite.

Pass the 3rd bridge. Stay river left. Just past the Prominent creek, listen for the Lynyrd Skynyrd.

I hope the Ranger Handbook I sent you honed your navigation skills some.

We needed a better far recognition signal than three MAJOR terrain features.

I replied to your PM twice. The 1st one is me giving you shit. The 2nd is the actual response. Doesn't show in the "sent items" folder. Just make sure you got both. See you soon.

Justamedic hooked me up with some heat in Anchorage. Currently in Seward, had a three man limit of salmon before the sun came up this morning.

Sounds like the trips' going good so far...

Unfortunately, the drought has not abated, and the wind picked up this weekend. The Sterling Highway as of this minute is closed (blocking travel from Seward to the rest of the Kenai Peninsula) due to the Swan Lake fire sparking up again and jumping the highway.

Also, there's a few new fires north of Anchorage just south of Talkeetna. Right now the Parks highway is open, but that can change pretty quick.

If it gets any worse, or the Sterling highway stays closed, consider heading up the Glenn Highway to Palmer and points north and southeast. There are some alpine lakes in the Paxson area that have good fishing, as well as several streams on the Denali Highway. Instead of Homer, consider a trip to Valdez to get some halibut fishing in.

We went out of Seward today and did halibut, silvers and rock fish. Chartering again tomorrow. Headed for Homer on Wed if they open the road back up. Pretty smokey here in Seward. Having a large time so far.

Well, I'm two weeks in. Spent an evening at the Alaska state fair last night. Not really my scene, but not bad as far as fairs go. Headed for Talkeetna this morning. Dig the state. Lots of beauty, lots of WV. Beautiful places and junk piles.

Talkeetna looks like a cool little town. Probably more salmon, but you're probably sick of salmon by now. I want to see three dudes fishing with grizzlies in the background!

Just finishedup the Denali highway, which is basically a 160 mile dirt road thru nothing. It was pretty cool. We camped along the way then spent a couple of days jacking around Denali National Park. Headed to Fairbanks today to spend a couple of days, then over to Valdez to whack some more salmon.
