Sorry it took me so long to contribute and that it could not be more. Thanks SocNet!

It's Tax Time

I donated several months ago and in order to use your SOCNET donation as a Tax Deduction, you must have the charities snail-mail address. TurboTax will not except charities without addresses.
Where can we find the SOCNET address?

This is a forum. It isn't a charity. How can you expect to write off money given to something that is a hobby site? No where is it listed as deductible.

Money I sent is to help the site stay up so I can continue my hobby of coming here and reading/posting.

You probably need to ask for your money back if you are trying to use it as deduction vice to support your hobby.

As our oh-so-smooth talking :D moderator stated above, SOCNET is not a charity nor is it registered as a charity for tax purposes. So, it's good that this was brought up by Joe now before anyone else makes that mistake. You CANNOT deduct your donations to this site. If some of you choose not to donate because of this in the future, we understand. As well, if some of you were under the impression that this was a charity and would be tax deductible, the owner has agreed to refund your money should you so choose.

Smooth talking describes me, perfectly:D

I'll throw this out for anyone who honestly thought they were contributing to a tax exempt or charitable institution. I will replace the money you gave vice it needing to come back out of the site admin.

Send me a PM and once I confirm the amount, with an Admin, I'll send your money out the same or next day.

This offer is not made in jest or mocking. It is a honest offer to resolve an issue that some may have mistakenly made. I've been fortunate in my business and will gladly assist in resolving this situation for anyone it applies to.

The only people who need to know are you, me and the Admin that confirms the amount to me.

Regards, SB

Stay safe.

Done,

I think its prudent to say however that donating, like posting, is a cyclic thing, not an event.

I don't know how I missed this! I sent enough to buy a wrench for black helo maintenance! (Unless you buy it from the government)

Thanks for the great site!

EDIT TO ADD: I'll have to make this a regular event. Kinda like paying my cable bill, only better!
