Rest Well brother-WO1 Sean Mullen, ODA 5221

WO1 Sean Mullen, former 18D, was killed here when his NTV struck an IED on 2 Jun. His team mates worked furiously for more than 40 minutes prior to DUSTOFF arriving in order to try and save his life. His injuries were too great and it was his time.

For the rest of the world, save for his friends (both here and back in the States) - and of course his family...his sacrifice somehow no longer rates even as below the fold, back page news.
A small blurb in a hometown paper. A mention of "US Soldier killed in Afghanistan" on the ticker under a well manicured anchorperson spewing meaningless minutes about some gay sports icon, Lindsay Lohan lunacy or Justin Bieber fashion trend.

This was a good man by all who knew him. A solid "dirty boots soldier" who did things the right way, the SF way.
If the Nation will no longer recognize it's true heroes then let us recognize, and honor, their memory.

Thank you for your service Sean. Rest well Brother.

USASOC Press Release - WO1 Sean Mullen

RIP brother, SFC Mullen was my Pathfinder Instructor. A true professional at the Benning School. We used to talk quite a bit about SF stuff during the breaks.

I'm sure it's easy to get frustrated or pissed off and feel like the country doesn't care. We civilians won't know about these things if the MSM don't tell us. Your loses don't mean any less to us just because the MSM doesn't find them news worthy.

I'm sorry for the loss of your brother. RIP.
