I am reading the Journals of Lewis and Clark. Lewis makes an entry in his journals regarding Spirit Mound, SD.

The Indians have made it a great article of their superstition; it is called the mountain of Little People, or Little Spirits, and they believe that it is the abode of little devils in the human form, about 18 inches high and with remarkably large heads, armed with sharp arrows, with which they are very skillful, and always on the watch to kill those who should have the hardihood to approach their residence. The tradition is that many have suffered from these little evil spirits; among others, three Maha Indians fell a sacrifice to them a few years since. This has inspired all the neighboring nations, Sioux, Mahas, and Ottoes, with such terror that no consideration could tempt them to bvisit the hill.

Sounds like we need to give the Ancient Aliens producers a call.

Unmanned alien drones possibly? It'd be a nifty way to collect data on us Earthlings without endangering themselves.

There are a few credible people saying that unmanned alien drones are the most likely scenario, IF these things are “alien” tech.

Pretty cool. Thanks for posting that.

As for those who say "well I haven't seen it..." Ok. I can confidently say that you also cannot visually observe quantum mechanics, yet we can clearly measure quantum activity.

There's a lot out there that we're just beginning to understand.

Whilst this is true, the interpretation of those measurements can be, and probably are, wildly inaccurate.

"Alien" drones? Or just another space race? Probably between Branson and Musk this time...

The ones that populate the elected offices of Washington DC or make films in Hollywood?

If it is revealed that the members of those two groups are not of this world it would not surprise me in the slightest.

It would actually explain a lot in my eyes.

More likely future tech from our own race sent back to gather data, it's more likely as math of space time work forward and backward, but traveling multiples of C you get into some far far flung wild ass guesses.

Why would we need to send tech back to gather data?

Sorry I didn't know this had to make any real sense.

Experiments for something, gather microbes or seeds that no longer exist. Or maybe human DNA uncorrupted by radiation. Prob could write a cool book like that if its not alreaddy been done 100 times, I don't read sci-fi.

Because the Back-To-The-Anal movie franchise is fantabulously popular in the future?

The same difficult equations with time travel involve complications with space as well. Not only do you need to figure out when but, also the exact position of the earth in the universe at that moment.
That is a big part of the impossibility of time travel is figuring where in space the earth was at the moment you are trying to travel to.

This all sounds like everything has to have a scientific reason.

Why go back in time/place?

How about to verify what you've been led to believe about the past?

Or simple voyeurism?
