Sipping on some Lagunitas Maximus. Watching Patton, Midway and The Great Outdoors.

It's a good day to do fuck-all.

Researching some family genealogy and finding this tidbit.

President Washington created a select battalion of riflemen in 1792. These men were to be outfitted with superior rifles. Jacob Welshans was one of the York contractors for rifles for the 328 enlisted men and officers of this special unit. He participated in later state and federal arms contracts. Hicks, US Ordnance, 1, 14; 11

Also, my 4th Great Grandfather was a pallbearer for George Washington when his procession passed through York.

That's cool stuff. I started a thread some time ago in the History thread about it. Amazing what you can find.

I used to mess with implements daily on the farm but they did not function until I was successful with both halves!

That’s why it’s a small pleasure and not a huge FTW. :-)

A week at Scout camp with the boys. Scratch that. Chance to see them as they have now become: really now as young men. No. 1 got his shotgun merit badge, and built a raft to complete his Pioneering merit badge. No. 2 met some foreign Scouts on their way to the jamboree. They gave him one of their kerchiefs. Mind blown.

Cool stuff. There are a bunch of overseas scouts invading our EC Jamboree site close to me. Hundreds if not more.

Cranked up the hillbilly AC in the shop. Hot here on the blue ridge today. 100% chance of a Yuengling cold front blowing in here in about an hour.

I heard that. Yesterday too. I'm finally acclimated. I mowed the yard mid day.

Well. There is some hope for your family after all. Congrats. Taps kills me every fucking time.

I just enjoyed a cooling off. Supervising my Grandson washing the autos with a water hose. Often missing, getting us both wet.

It's disgusting out there. I put the chipper shredder I picked up yesterday in the garage to assemble, since there is A/C in there, I was still sweating like.....well, you know!

I really have a shit ton to do, but if I get heat stroke there isn't anyone here right now to check in on me, so that would be really bad for my dogs.

The temperature JUST dropped below 100º now, but with 45% humidity it still feels like 110º.

The temp in the pool is 99º. It doesn't even feel refreshing.

I want winter back!

I'm in Danville VA tonight. If Virginia was a butt, Danville would be the butthole. It feels like a shrimp steamer down here. Fuck this. It's only 70 miles from my house on top of the mountains and I may as well be on another planet.
