It's certainly feasible, and he does bear a striking resemblance to the composite sketch of D.B. Cooper (who from here on out I will refer to only as "The Man").

Just curious, did the FBI ever get on to him as a lead, or perhaps consider and subsequently reject him as a viable suspect?

Intriguing, and only adds to his legendary status. And as I've already stated I'm a big fan of the legend, in all of its many guises.

You're welcome. Cass was living history. It was an honor to hear about his experiences.

RIP Cass.

I do remember that Cass told me it was an SF guy though not who he was or which SF unit he was in.

Cass knew who he was but he filtered what he told me. It was a need to know basis and I didnít need to know. However, I got the impression it wasnít just a hijacking and something else was involved. Then again this was my impression.

Same for some of his anecdotes from his SEAL and CIA days. He was careful not to tell me specifics but enough to tell me some damn good stories. I think this helped get his mind off his wife and their situation for a little bit and I enjoyed hearing about them tremendously.

Man I miss him. We got really close via our chats in email, PMs and on the phone. I could listen to him all day.

Though he had a hard time with his wife & her not recognizing him and all that comes with dementia. It was one area he felt completely helpless. If it were flesh and blood then heíd know exactly what to do but this was something he couldnít fight.

Crap now Iíve gotten myself upset again though itís also nice to have those memories.

I want D.B. Cooper to remain both unknown and unknowable. He is now legendary, and knowing who he is would only ruin the tale for me.

I doubt it, but still, it would be pretty cool to have people think that you are.

There are lurkers like myself who read all that is offered. IDK maybe my local knowledge could be useful to cats like rubyredclover. Hilariously dudes like that will never ask anything, of me and never stop being stupid.

I'm not retarded. I read lp's post as a SOCNET conversation hand grenade.

This is not a den of liars. He is not talking about Bigfoot.

Everyone Knows what a small world we occupy in the whole military. LP gets exactly negative 3x to his career if random dude gets the name of DB Cooper. However maybe no one cares! Possibly the world wants to have a criminal hero who gets it done.

I may be in the minority but i believe billy waugh.

On the News last night they had information that a relative from Sacramento stated some thing that he knew who he was, I don't think he can prove anything. That just from the News Story.

Another person ID'd as D.B. Cooper

And of course, the person who is doing the identifying is pushing their book on the subject. What a surprise.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...=.b4b3456a94b3

The latest person being pegged as D.B. Cooper is a gent by the name of Walter R. Reca, who is being billed as a "former military paratrooper and intelligence operative". On our local ABC affiliate tonight, they showed his niece at a press conference talking about how her uncle Walt was in the NG, was also a Pararescueman, then a Green Beret. And finally, he subsequently worked as a security contractor all over the world.

I would sincerely like to see this man's DD 214.

There were many prints lifted from the aircraft, some had no value. But no hit.

With the "suspect" being as old as he is there should be MANY prints of his.

I doubt they lifted epithelial cells.

Hopefully they can get this guy printed, at least in a perfect world.

I'm still going with Mike Huckabee. How can anybody look at the composite photo and not put him at the top of the list?
