I never got to meet the man, unfortunately. You rest easy , Mr. Perot. You will be missed.

My short history with the Perot family and employees: we catered to Mr. Perot's head of security back in the 80's and his cronies when I worked for Samuelson outfitters in the Troublesome basin. They were all great hunters, Marsoc, Rangers and SF dudes, some were businessmen . Ross' personal secretary's husband also hunted in our camp, Roger was his name, a great human being. A few years later we had Ross Perot Jr. and his two sons and entourage, mostly body guards, in camp. I guided Hunter, Ross Perot's youngest (at that time) grandson. He was a good kid, 11 back then. His bodyguard was an asshole, named Hays! Anyhoo, my Perot connection.....Rest in Peace , Sir!

The National Debt was around 4 trillion THEN and he was irate about it. That's what I liked about him. He was a Patriot.

RIP. In college, I had a person from EDS(Electronic Data Systems) want to set up an interview with me. Being young and dumb, I turned it down. Told my Dad the next day and he was beside himself.
Later, a buddy whom I grew up with went under Ross's wing. He ended up being a great business partner with him. He now is a major business player in Dallas(Victory Park, etc..) and other places.

I remember being a little kid and wanting him to be president. He had big ears like me, and wasn't going to take a salary for being President, like Trump. That impressed my young mind.

RIP sir!

I read an article that said Mr. Perot was a very large supporter of the military and used his personal jet to help the families of wounded troops travel to be with them. RIP Sir.

The Gander, Newfoundland Tower Airline (uh, huh) crash with a 1/2 an Inf Bn (I think a 506th unit) returning from a 6 mth rotation in the Sinai. He pitched in on that deal with military families.

I guess searches for Dana Carvey are trending on Google right now. Apparently Mr. Perot thought Carvey's impressions of him were hilarious. That's pretty cool.

RIP.

During that election cycle Jay Leno had a skit called Celebrity Jeopardy.

One night a Perot, Bush & Clinton impersonator played the roles. Carvey was one of them.

Bush was fucking up the economy category.

Clinton just rambled

Perot gave killer but mostly wrong answers

Final Jeopardy Category...All 3 had little money to wager. I forgot the question and dont remember the answers or wagers from Bush/Clinton.

Jay asked Perot "How much do you want to wager"? Perot said "10 billion dollars Jay". Jay replies "You don't have that much".

The Perot impersonator started walking toward Jay while reaching for his wallet and said "The Hell I Don't".

I searched the web for it. My kung fu is weak today.

I have little experience in losing money.-H. Ross Perot

As I heard him state during one of his presidential campaigns.
