Happy Time Murders

This trailer has me all sorts of laughing out loud. Muppets...for adults. Saw the trailer before the new Deadpool movie. I cannot wait.

Stanley from The Office is in it, that signals comedy gold.

Reminds me of "Meet the Feebles".

I did laugh out loud once. You know it's going to offend people, so I'm basically already sold on it.

Thumbs down Raunchy

Went to see this today. Had the expectation that it was going to be a somewhat crude, adult language version of the muppet movies since I watched a trailer a couple months ago. I must have missed a lot because it wasn't what I was expecting.

From the first minutes of the movie I was disgusted at the way they inject sex into the storyline. Way too much sex, and I'm not talking about humans either. Turned an otherwise funny movie with an original storyline into a shit show. It was funny, and had some good scenes, but about a third of it revolved around perv themes instead of developing the murder mystery.

2/5*

The review in the paper today was the definition of 'scathing review' he called it the worst movie he had ever seen, and the most unfunny comedy ever.

"What's that stand for - F****g Big Idiots?"

Might be they put all the best parts in the trailers but it looks pretty funny.

It has Melissa McCarthy; of course it's nasty. She has zero comedic ability, so she has to go for raunchy.

^Yeah, I saw the parts in the trailer talking about wanting to screw for money and stuff like that, just figured it was one of the crazier scenes or it would turn out something like a typical cop moive. Was not expecting it to be one of the major themes. Not familiar with McCarthy.

I thought she was pretty funny in Spy, but she had a good supporting cast too. Jason Statham cracked me up in one of the scenes.

Generally speaking though, I avoid movies she's in.

She has no depth; she plays the same character in every movie.

I was looking at IMDB, there is a Spy 2 in the works, and it looks like Statham will have a bigger role. Right now he's the only one listed in the credits.

His monologue sitting in the hotel room had me laughing out loud, not many movies can get me to do that these days.
