Cool Civil War-type photos from 129th RQW Gunner

These are some pretty cool black and white photos taken by an aerial gunner with 129th Rescue Wing. The amount of time and planning required for tintype photos, while trying to work around rescue missions, is amazing.

Those tintype images, which are infinitely more difficult to create (and cooler) than mere black and whites, turned out well. I'd have loved to get one back in the day.

I have to say I am not a fan with trying to antiquate something before it's time.
Let time and technology create the look and distinction it will carry on for years in the future.

I think I 'get it'.
It's a hobby... and it's different.
I was dodging black and white photos well after color had dominated.
'twas fascinating to create sepia photos, etc.
