The Rain Song Video from the Song Remains the Same.

Great relaxing tune and the Damsel in distress near the end is HOT!

Bonzo died while I was in boot camp, so I never got to see them live.
I will never forgive him!

I saw them on the 7th, 10th and 14th of June '77 at Madison Square Garden and though I've seen literally a couple of thousand concerts since then, only a few have ever come close to matching that experience. Then again, I'm a Zeppelin fanatic who ranks Page over Hendrix (#1 and #2) so there's that...

Agreed, but my list would have Clapton 1st and then Page, just for the volume of work and the longevity of his career.

There's no denying Clapton's legacy and impact but personally, he's never been on my list of favorite/best guitarists...but Brian May is:

Absolutely...May, Buckingham, Knopfler, just to name a few that are always too far down on the list IMO. Same with Eddie Van Halen being so high on the list along with Hendrix...yes, they were damn good...where are they now? Even Keith Richards (modern medical marvel that he is), is still banging them out. But, music, movies, literature, art...it's all a subjective opinion. There is no real right or wrong, just appreciation of the vibes. I just like music...period.

Dig my man on this tune....I would rate Hendrix, Skydog, Page, Clapton and Knopfler in my top five.

Bravo, my man.

Buckingham, now there's a guy who has never really quite gotten the credit he so richly deserves. Knopfler - brilliant axeman, 'nuff said. Eddie gets props for innovating the art of shredding and introducing shit like harmonics and tapping and Keith, well, Keith's a legend, as much for his still being amongst the living as for his guitar chops.

Ask 20 people, you'll get 20 different opinions but in the end, just like you said, it's all about the music and the wealth and breadth of musical appreciation in this thread is phenomenal.

But...I'm a diehard fan of Skydog. So great, gone so young...and I think that only adds to the myth.
