Current req's:

1. Atlanta based Senior Sales Engineer that can speak telecom/IP/MPLS.
2. Multiple Senior Sales Execs: Urgent needs are 2 slots in DC: one for the fed space, the other for the commercial space. Note: for the Fed spot, it is more important that the person know the fed sales process, know the contract vehicles; the tech will be taught. For the other roles, the person is at a minimum expected to be technically astute.

Sales Engineer Senior (N) - BMG South East

Typical Work Hours: Employees are expected to work at least forty (40) hours per calendar week for an indefinite period of time

Job Responsibilities: Performs as account team technical lead by supporting the team or business partner in the sales stage including: telecommunications and CPE design/engineering/consulting, proposal preparation support, technical presentations to customers, and the analysis and design of Qwest complex products and solutions.

Performs site surveys (in some situations based on design aspects) to secure analysis and design requirements necessary for the formulation of optimal solutions. Works with Qwest vendor-partners on proposals, design issues and general product feedback. Provides technical training and development support to the local branch or business partners, and provides technical support at trade shows. Provides detailed network drawings and diagrams as required.

Leads development of strategic and tactical plans with their respective sales teams or business partners, providing technical input into developing account plans and assists the sales team in qualifying and closing specific customer opportunities. Provides network and applications impact analysis for customers and prospects. Leads internal cross-functional teams to obtain required approvals and complete designs and technical aspects of proposals for prospects and customers.

•INITIATING: Leads technical discovery provides selling presentations and solutions. Designs and prices: Voice, Data and Video CPE solutions, complex IP solutions, VPN, Dial, Hosting and LD solutions; SONET, Private Line, Videoconferencing network services -DS3 and higher; complex Frame Relay and ATM services (25%).

•PLANNING: Participates or leads sales strategy discussions with sales teams. Keeps abreast of all voice, data and video technologies. Keeps abreast of all Network/Transport Technologies. Champions Network/Transport solutions with Product Management. Performs analysis of competitors’ product offerings in order to position Qwest as the preferred provider, through value, technical advantages and relationship. (20%).

•EXECUTING: Forges direct, personal relationships with customers or prospects technical staff. For large customers, actively participates in customer network planning, provide training on emerging technologies and trends that may be important to the customer. Continually updates customer on Qwest enhancements and perspective on network trends. Provides technical presentations to all levels of customer contacts. Develops and provides detailed network drawings as required. Coordinates handoff to primary implementation lead on networks sold. Champions all CPE solutions with product management and vendors. Identifies Product gaps and drives toward improvement. Develops and presents technical training for sales representatives. Throughout the project life cycle, investigates additional sales opportunities and provides relevant information to appropriate sales organizations. Understands customer decision making and business processes to include, assisting sales team in developing strategies to influence decision marker (i.e. CxO level), understanding financial impacts and ability to relate value as the key component within the decision making process. (35%).

•CLOSING: Participates with sales team to obtain customer contractual acceptance of final services/products proposed. Ensures final documentation (engineering diagrams, site surveys, statement of work) is complete and updates historical information to be used for future projects. (10%)
•REVENUE: Ensures sold services are completed and operating as designed. Reduces risks of pre-completion cancellation by customer. (10%).
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field and/or 6-10 years of equivalent experience in sales engineering, systems engineering (networking services, telephony, IP networking equipment), and/or sales
•Strong knowledge of internetworking designs and their applications, to include complex routing techniques on LAN/WAN networks, IP Telephony, Security and network diversity applications.
•In-depth understanding of traditional telecommunications services such as, Enhance Toll Free, LD, IP, VPN, ATM, Frame Relay, Private Line Giga-Bit Ethernet, SONET Transport, PRI and Local CO-based Trunking Service
•Understanding Voice Switching technologies and associated equipment, PBX interconnection, 911 networks and equipment
•Consultative selling and customer questioning techniques in order identify new opportunities, up sell within in existing accounts and maintain the role of trusted advisor to both the customer and sales team.
•Effective presentation, analytical, communications and customer relationship skills.
•Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
•Strong project management skills to include, setting customer expectations, driving committed time lines, track deliverable when necessary and assume the role as liaison for the customer and cross-functional team (i.e. Operation, Engineering, Product Management, etc.).
•Ability to work autonomously on multiple projects and associated deliverables. Time management skills are a critical requirement.
•Solution selling which is defined as - Analyzing business processes to define key organizational and systems integration requirement, identify the best technical and cost based solutions, designing a scope, compiling cost, presenting the solution and understanding operational impacts.
•Valid Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:
•A strong knowledge of Cisco IP Telephony and Security Systems is preferred.
•Cisco certifications (CCDA/CCNA/CCDP/NP) or CCIE.
•Maintained significant design and engineering knowledge of converged CPE platforms. Knowledge of Juniper, Cisco and Nortel platforms is highly desirable.
•Knowledge of Cisco Configuration Online (CCO) tool.
•Knowledge of BGP, IPsec, web servers and database servers with focus on SANs and tape backup.




Emerging Technologies Sales ConsultantJob Description

Qwest’s Emerging Technologies Sales Consultant (ETSC) will be responsible for managing the assigned territory for all Qwest business market segments. ETSC will be responsible for building relationships with BMG (Direct Sales) and Indirect Sales Channels as the Cloud Computing Sales Specialists. Additionally The ETSC will develop and qualify opportunities through their own networks and relationships. The suite of services this position will be responsible for selling includes Qwest Hosted Cloud Services, traditional dedicated Managed Hosting Services, Storage and Back-up Services as well as network access to these hosted environments.

Job Responsibilities:

Add Chicago to the hot sheet: Chicago, needs a super star. Someone that can close, not straight engineer, a technical sales person that has sold direct before. Hosting/Collo/Cloud a must. I have found EMC has the same landscape I am looking for which is hardcore.
