transitioning veterans into US Merchant Marine

This sounds like a good thing to me. I'm almost starting to like this President...

That is a good idea. It was an EO instead of proper legislation because of the power of unions and the licensing bureaucracy. If this can be done for transitioning into the Merchant Marine, perhaps similar things could be done for similar skill transfers, like going from working on C-17 engines to working on airliner engines, etc.

It's a very good idea. This could work in multiple areas for exiting veterans and always could. The only difference is that we have a POTUS that cares about veterans and thinks of ways to help them once they are done serving their country rather than simply dispose of them.

JBLM has several good transition programs, including a Merchant Marine program, in which personnel are able to get their ABS card prior to ETS/retirement.

Somehow this is wrong and racist....I know it is, well President Trump is a racist bigot.

Outstanding!

It is nice to see a President actually making things happen for veterans. Cut the BS, get it done. Sadly you will not see much about this on the MSM.

Merchant Marines are essential to our nation. Had an Uncle who was a MM during WWII, and use to love listening to all his sea stories.
