I believe it exempted .22LR, and only pertains to “rifles”.

Change that to social media post history or political/ religious affiliations and 3/4 of the Socnet Membership would be listed, and banned from gun ownership “for the safety and security of society”.

New York is trying to push a 'Social Media Monitoring' law through - with an affidavit of nothing deleted in the previous (60?) days under penalty of jail. Reason #4,378 to not have a SM account, or at least one that is anything but cat memes, tied to your real name/un-vpn'd location.

What? You can’t delete anything on your social media account? Or does the company have to have a 60 day database buffer?

That actually has some precedence with the "USAS, LAW-12, and Street Sweeper are now NFA weapons... even though they are clearly just 12-round scatterguns" ruling from the 90s... which I believe was an ill-conceived and indefensible political infringement of the first-water.

I was reading a an old Letter to the Editor: Gun control advocates, silent majority threat to our rights
Ruidoso News New Mexico

The biggest threats to the Second Amendment are the vocal, gun-control advocates and the silent majority.

I believe that the majority of the gun-control proponents' ultimate goal is a total gun-ban. They're starting with bans on so-called assault rifles and high-capacity magazines. They'll probably be able to accomplish the above bans, because the majority of gun-owners will remain silent.

Remember, "A journey is completed one step at a time." Today, the outlawing of so-called assault rifles; tomorrow, the outlawing of all guns.

All military, assault rifles are capable of firing full-automatic. They're used by offensive forces to keep defensive forces pinned down, while the attackers close in on the enemies' positions.

As David "Carbine" Williams proved, during the 1920s, entire semi-automatic rifles can be produced in any machine shop.

To paraphrase Thomas Jefferson, an unarmed man is more likely to become a victim of a crime than an armed man.

Per a co-author of the U.S. Constitution, George Mason, "I ask sir what is the militia? It is the whole people. To disarm the people is the best and most effective way to enslave them."

The gun-control advocates trust our 18-year-old troops to protect our country with guns, but they don't trust them to own guns.

Reader, please don't silently condone the whittling away of the Second Amendment - contact your federal and state legislators.

So I guess there is a run on ammo out in California due to a new law requiring a background check to purchase... wtf?

Not only that, you can only purchase ammo for guns that are registered to you. So if you have unregistered guns, the only way to get ammo is if someone else has a registered gun with the same caliber who is willing to buy for you, or you go out of state. I wonder how many of the “I’m a gun owner, but...” crowd out there finally figured out why people are against registration.

Oh, you claimed veterans disability for PTSD? No ammo for you!

Liberals are finally getting smart. Have said for many years, go after the ammo not the guns.

It as usual, this will not reduce gun violence and only ones it affects are otherwise law abiding citizens.

This was a ballot item 2 years ago. Of course the idiots in Kali voted for it in high numbers. Goes into effect I think this month. I have bought a lot of ammo the past six months
