Bear Creek Arsenal

A friend of mine is looking at a BCA upper: 6.5 Grendel. 16" Parkerized Heavy Barrel, 1:8 Twist, Carbine Length Gas System, 15" MLOK Rail Side Charging Upper for $260. He's also looking at a BCA Multi-Caliber Complete Lower for $200. Was hoping to get opinions/reviews on the company if not these specific items. Thanks, in advance.

Wow, that is a super cheap deal.

All my AR uppers are JP MK III handguards/rails. I chose an 18” barrel as the best ballistic compromise. I use a mid length gas tube and adjustable block as I wanted to keep the weight down by using a shorter rail (5” exposed barrel); don’t recommend shorter gas than mid as that seems to introduce an awful lot of dwell time before the bullet is uncorked.

No problem. The link below is for a 16” grendel kit from Alexander Arms, the only carbine gas I saw was for 11.5” barrel. I would suggest he look at return options/requirements, just in case he has issues with accuracy or cycling.
